Corey
I am looking to run two monitors. One of them will be my primary gaming monitor while I want the other monitor to have chat windows and web browsers up. I tested it today and whenever I click on Monitor # 2 the game playing on Monitor #1 minimizes. This of course defeats the purpose of dual monitors that I was going for. I have heard some games offer Full Windowed Mode which would stop this from happening, but not all games have this and I do not want to play my games in windowed mode. Does anyone run dual monitors and avoid this problem using software or any other means? Gfx card - AMD HD5850 Trying to run two 23 inch LG E2370V-BF monitors. Thanks for the help! Antichrist
This is what I use: http://www.displayfusion.com/ I DID honestly try it first, using a downloaded copy... I always like to test a product when possible before buying it. It will not update, and you will get a message telling you it's a BS copy daily to remind you that you're a douchbag It's worth the $25 IMO. At least for me. there might be a way to do what the program does if you're good with PCs, but this gives me dual taskbars, and window snapping (one click sends a window onto the other monitor) It does a ton of other stuff as well, but those are the two features I wanted most. I'll take a SS for you.... EDIT: nevermind, no SS... it keeps freezing my PC for some reason :-/ EDIT AGAIN (because I'm a derp) I have the same issue with some games minimizing on me as well still, and just learned to live with it... :-/
The_Dom
You can run the games in windowed mode, I would think that would fix it. For ET you should be able to hit alt+enter. For COD there is a config change, IDK what it is but it is easily googled.

I haven't bought the monitors yet so if I can't do it full screen I may just stick to 1 monitor. After further research I think I found something that sounds similar to Display Fusion called Actual Multiple Monitors ... It seems like it would solve the problem. Have you ever heard of it? The_Dom
Sorry, missed that part.
Antichrist
I don't believe I've heard of it, but it does sound similar. The question is, can it do what you want? I've never had much success in being able to play fullscreen games while still being able to use my second monitor, but I'm also not the most tech-savvy person either. I will have to test it out and post my findings. The monitors are at a friends house so next time I am over there I will give it a go. Heretic121
I use Actual Monitors and it all works as it should. It let's me pre-set windows to open on certain monitors, let's me add a new taskbar (+start button) to the second monitor and other things. As for games minimi(s/z)ing I have that problem with pretty much every game I play except ET. It's just something I've learnt to live with lol For ET I just Alt+Tab out and I can use my second monitor like normal, and if I have any windows open behind ET I can just move them using AM. Antichrist
Well now that I've reinstalled, after my recuva scan completes I'll try to take some screenshots of the Display Fusion menus for you to take a look at As long as it doesn't freeze my PC (I'm hoping it won't) I should be able to show you the features of Display Fusion, and can see if there's a help file to upload for you to check out as well. It may very well do what you want it to, and I just don't know it lol. I like the program, but it's also the only thing I've used for dual monitors... So I have no way to compare it to others unfortunately. At the time I just wanted dual task bars, This program did it, so I bought it. ChiLLy<3
You cant run a fullscreen game without minimizing when you use the other monitor, but its something u learn to live with, atleast ive never heard of a program that "counters" that problem
