My COD 4 Chat issue

Hey guys. I have a problem where some times ina my general chat, every time I type an "a" it redirects the letter to the beginning of the sentence. I also have the problems in console when I type /record, everytime i go to /stoprecord it will automatically pop "record" erasing all my typing and un-allowing me to stop the recording process. It really pisses me off and I have no idea if its a mess up with the installment off steam... pls help.

Does it happen anywhere else ie when your typing on other things and a temp fix for /stoprecord is type /stop and use your arrow keys to navigate through the list and press enter.

No it changes the text when i navigate with the arrows.. its like every other maps. Its so random and only happens on my laptop

Its supposed to change to what the arrow highlights to. You keep pressing until you get to what you want.

No i dont press anything... its really hard to explain, like it deletes the sentence as I am typing. It also deletes it as I navigate through with the arrows. The biggest issue is the fact it redirects my "a" when I am typing in general chat lol..

Had this happen to me, annoyed the shit outta me. Two things that worked for me, changed your name using the options route or restart the game. It happens when you type some thing outta game (like in xfire) sometimes. You'll also notice the typin bar changes when this happens.

Try hitting the insert key when it starts doing it that could be the cause?

I also noticed this happening, I forget what caused it, but it was either the right alt or ctrl key... or perhaps both of them in combinations..

 

either way, I noticed the same thing in cod4 chat/rcon. I'd suggest moving whatever you have bound to those keys ^^
