Early Morning :D

I know nothing about this Sword

Some say it could be from Indonesia.

I had This from an Old FrienD for about 13 years

It used to be in better condition

"Got a bigger picture of the complete...", I was posting as $kull posted his latests pics.

You can search on Google Images for similar images,  I found out.  You can put your imageShack links into the search window.

ADDED,  Results:

Uhhh, maybe not!  But it is good for a laugh.

Pic-matching searches might work better for the first two images of the handle and of the blade, in the second pic-set, without the beaded-string.

Comparative-searching for the last pic, the closeup of the handle, got a few images, including this:

Google-similar-image-search for the ball pommel itself got no good results.  I wonder if the sword had a crossbar or a knuckle-guard at one time.
I looked through this site:  http://www.eriksedge.com/index.php  The links-page might help, or links to sword-buffs' sites might anwer your question better.

Here is a series of images I made to try to clarify the stamp or design on the blade, but I don't see where on the blade the original picture could be from:

looking at the quality, or rather lack of it, its likely from a small rural workshop somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Could it be south american/brazilian?

Evening,

It used to be in better quality, I didn't know the value of it when I received it.

Some friends say it's possible from Indonesia

Others say it's a 'jihad'sword haha lol

Think I might gonna go to antique shop next week to show it

thx

have a great evening

I have seen machetes like this from different places in the world and I think it most resembles a South American farming machete.

Here is a website with all kinds of machetes.  Some look very close to the blade design.

I agree with smoke. My opinion is that the El Salvadorian blade was formerly a machete, at some point it was cut down and the blade was re profiled. I used to own a machete just like that one just full size, it had the same handle design, made of a black plastic/bakelite material.
