steam messed with my profile...

Ok so the story goes like this. I was playing cod 4 on the beginners server then my modem quit, once it came back i tried to join and it said that my key was in use. Ive had that problem before, and just having steam validate my files fixed it. So i ran it again and when i tried to rejoin it said that my stats could not be loaded (or something like that) but the cod key issue was fixed. I joined the beginners server and now im level one... Help?

okay so i think steam changed my key and that is why i cant use my mpdata file

Okay that actually helped alot. I fixed my key and put it in a text file in my cod folder so i dont lose it. and now i can play. but when i try to change my mp data file to my old one it just resets again.
