What does it mean? What is it? What is it mean to say a player is pro mod/uses pro mod?

 

What are the hacks that players use and what are their indications? In other words, what do you see that indicates a player is using a hack?

Promod is a mod without any perks just straight guns. No UAVs or Airstrikes or choppers. It basically increases skill and the mod is all about skill. Hence you get the name Pro = Skill and mod well it is a mod.

 

Tino is so good because probably he has been a player of the game since it came out in 2007. I guess it is just play the game over and over and eventually you do get good.

 

On the other hand I reckon you should know what hacks they use because you are fairly good at finding them. I guess they use wallhack I can't really describe any of these. Aimbot which just helps them aim and find players. 

 

Usually on aimbot is probably the easiest to spot because you can tell by the snapping that goes on. 

 

 

I don't know how much help I have been. (I doubt I was helpful) but it was the best i could do.

Pro-Mod is a cod4 mod that highly skilled players play (generally), similar to a zombie or paintball mod. It is just a modified version of the stock cod4 game. Pro-mod takes away all perks that give large advantages, airstrikes and heli's. The base idea is to eliminate factors in the game that give players advantages beyond their own skill. It tweaks a guns wobble motion, or the motion it makes while looking down the site, so it is next to nothing. Eliminates the muzzle flash and smoke because graphics card render it differently. Basically, players that play in this mod a lot are going to have skill based advantages because of the environment they have been playing in. Once they play in a normal server, they are going to be better than those that don't. You can often tell those that play pro-mod by the way they move. There are certain movements that are glitches, not illegal glitches but glitches nonetheless, that offer minor speed enhancements or jump distances that pro-mod players use. Some are just incredibly familiar with map and destroy all on there.

 

The biggest key is to spectate and spectate for a long time if something looks fishy but you can't tell for sure. There are some obvious hacks, straight headshots with every bullet and things like that. Some are more subtle. Some you think at first are cheating but then overtime you realize that they are just that good and using UAV or their ears to tell that somebody was around the corner. There was a guy in beginners last night, I could have sworn he was cheating at first. He was pre-firing around corners, spamming walls everything that would tip me off to hacking. But the next map, and all other maps after that, he was average to above average. He just really knew that map and used uav.

 

 

I was reading about this the other day, but it was on another forum so I will not link. Watch youtube videos of hacking and those getting caught, there are a lot out there. DON'T DOWNLOAD ANYTHING THOUGH, never download a cheat, ever ever ever. But there is a lot of reference material out there on the web as to what is out there, what is possible, what it does even what it looks like to the cheater. There are a lot of reference material for those who are trying to catch cheaters too. Google it, there are lots of resources.

If anything looks "unnatural" but you're not 100% sure, call in another admin to look watch with you. Jump on TS or xfire somebody. That is one reason I like TS so much, you can sit and multiple people can watch a player and discuss it real time. When a fishy movement happens, everybody can see it and you can all give an opinion. It is a great tool for catching cheaters.

you should have a look in the suspected cheater section. there you will find hundreds of demos. you should check the demos where you can find several replies. all you need is experience and you only will get experience if you watch a lot of demos of skilled players and of cheaters.

promod is an ingame mod:- like jaymod for et, there is promod for cod4.

It's not a game hook that the player uses to mod his game whilst playing.

 

He thinks he gets kudos by saying he plays promod, but the fact he's bragging about playing promod means his skill is probably in the bottom half of the thousands that play the mod.

 

Go to promod servers and you will see the same cheats as on other servers.

Thanks. Yeah I wanted to know exactly how to distinguish the various hacks from each other so that when I list a reason for a ban or suspicion, that I am correctly identifying the indication. For example, I've heard that wallhack lets you shoot thru walls and see where ppl are so you can shoot them thru walls.  Aimbot only lets you aim better, NOT see where ppl are anywhere on the map, yes? And no recoil is a stand alone hack that diminishes recoil? or is it part of a "hack package"?

In one word, yes. They can all be stand alone or in a package. Just depends on what they downloaded. There aren't just three or four programs out there, but literally hundreds of hacks. Wallhack, aimbot and no recoil are more just a description of the what we are seeing. But one person banned for aimbot is probably not using the same program as the next person who is banned for aimbot. Usually somebody has a mix between the three. They will not see the game as we see the game, player could be highlighted or outlined, smoke will not show walls maybe see through. There are a wide variety of hacks that accomplish the same end goal, different ways.

wallhack belongs to the group of extrasensory perception cheats (esp cheats). we cant say which kind he is using, thats why we are only saying wallhack.

 

a small overview for you, how these esp cheats are looking like

1: simple wallhack, crosshair, laser aim help

 

 

2: crosshair, external uav (radar on the left side) and you can see where your opponents are (and their distance)

 

 

3: modelhack (people, weapons... are glowing)

It is good to know these things, but like Dom said, never under any circumstance download any of these things, even if you want to see how they work or how they look. You can get the wrong file in your COD folder and the next thing ya know, boom you're on a pb server and getcha self a big ole ban.. Besides the fact that cheaters suck lol I know you probably already know this, but I just felt like I needed to say it hehe

Oh there are many varieties.. just do a youtube search and you will see enough videos from the cheaters perspective.. So you know how they cheat and it makes it easier for us to catch..
