The bands that changed the music to '70's style the most (IMO) were the Doobie Borthers and

Chicago.  And to some extent ZZTop with the Texas style rock.  Boston brought in the overdubbed sound that

the early '80's was famous for sounding like. I can name about 10 bands that sounded just like each other during

the '80's.

We had fun here a while back overdubbing "Disco" over RAP.  Then we did it to the party music they play in those

Miami and LA bars.  The beat was exactly the same.  Disco is not dead!!  It just changed clothes.

Here is something to think about.  Up until about 1964 or 1965 most rock and roll songs only had 3 chords and the

some progression.  The Beatles changed all that.  But, it was "The Byrds"  that changed rock music forever with the

minor runs and progressions they did.  The Beatles adopted that style in the '70's especially with Rubber Soul and

Sergeant Pepper.
