Cant play 1.7 anymore

I'm having issues with switching from 1.6 to 1.7. When I first started playing I could play 1.7 then I installed the uk patch selector so I could play on abner and then I could not load 1.7 servers after that from the selector I had to open the game on steam, but now I can even do that, all games go to 1.6 severs no matter how I start the program. I have looked for a 1.7 patch and the link is broken in our download section and I cant find it on steam ether. If you didnt guess I have a steam copy so I cant just make to installs for each version or can I?. Any help would be appreciated because while Abner is my favorite server I would like to play the others and get to know everyone else. Thank you

Hm. My friend braden has similar problems. I would start by trying manual swaps, that may or may not work. There is a steam patch switcher on the forum that works, not sure if that's the one you have or not. If all else fails, save your players folder and uninstall/reinstall the game, see if that helps. Wish I had more to tell you, but that's all I know atm.

I have the same issue with UK patch selector. It doesn't work for me, that's why I stayed with 1.6.

The patch selector didn't work for me at all when I played COD.

 

I ran 2 installations of COD, one was patched 1.6, one was patched 1.7. I connected to 1.6 through xfire since I played that the most, and 1.7 was on my desktop as an icon.

You have to install updates as well guys, patch selector works fine.

Patch selector works fine for me using the UK. Used it today, and it did have an update. Have you been able to previously switch between the two with the selector? My Steam automatically will send to 1.7 as its the latest.

Initially I was able to switch with the selector but then only 1.6 would work( I had a 1.7 steam copy to start) and now I can only open 1.6 with any method, So I re installed  the game last night to see if the patch got lost somehow since I could not find a steam 1.7 patch, would it be possible to have two installations of the steam game for both versions and if so what is the best way?

UPDATE: the reinstall seems to have worked for no, keeping my fingers crossed I dont have to reinstall every couple of weeks

If you where to reinstall with steam it would be 1.7 right wwhen installed if not mistaken.

yes it was and I reinstalled the uk patch selector and it all seems fine now, I would just like to figure out what happened
