So I banned someone for the first time

Name: BOBMathew

could not get a screen shot but it is in the logs so there is record of it.

cali time 10:20ish

reason very very bad languge and disrect of other players and admins baska and ikillcampers where both on

Its great that you want to discipline misbehaving players but............

 

Before banning several things must be done:

Finger the player or get player info as this is minecraft

Get a demo/or screenshot

 

That is the proper protocal

If that is the case, I would suggest downloading a screenshot tool, or use the built-in tool for your OS, if this is possible. The trouble is that we need some proof to justify internally the banning of another player from our server.

Doobie or kai for minecraft. I don't play that game at all so i wouldn't make a single rule for it and i would respect with what kai decides.

All you need to do is press F2 in game. You can then find them in C:/Users/you/AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/screenshots/ on Windows, /Users/you/Library/Application Support/minecraft/screenshots/ on OS X or /home/you/.minecraft/screenshots/ on Linux. Apart from the normal ways to take a screenshot.

seee F2 or F3 (my xfire) do not work if you open up chat to and scoll back also doobie has been afk for the past 2 days or so.

Just a suggestion, nothing regarding the ban itself.

 

I use a free screenshot program called "Lightscreen". There are many others, but this one is small, runs in the background if you want it too and is ad-free. It has quite a few features for it's size. I find it easier than using in-game utilities since you can setup a key combo like "Shift+home" to bring up your screenshot folder automatically.

well he was clearing being an asshat on the server. I'm just kind of wondering why you didnt kick first though. we have a jail system set up. i think there is a mute system as well (will have to make sure you have the command never really had need for it) and of course there is tempbanning as well.

 

I try not to ban for first offense. specially since this was his first time on the server. and i will also look into getting a mute system set up for the server as well. (think we have one though. i swear i have seen that command in the 23 pages of hell)

 

ok so every admin on the server had access to the mute command when this happened. Please. check the commands that you have. ill post steps for banning on the server as well.
