So i was talking to kai and all of a sudden my keyboard stops working...

no problem, i thought, it'll be the batteries. changed them twice. didn't work.

so i restarted the comp, still didn't work.

then i check the connect button, it was half pressed in, took a knife and got it out again, didn't work either,

 

typed this with onscreen keyboard, and now my arm hurts :'(

It would help if you posted the model of your keyboard. Since it has a connect button my guess is that its a wireless keyboard. Did you check if the dongle was correctly placed inside the USB port. It may be the drivers but I won't know unless you post the model number.

try having your dongle to another USB port perhaps? or try that dongle and keyboard with PC #2 to isolate the issue if its your keyboard and/or your PC #1 ?
