Yep you can, but you DO need the 32bit libraries.. Which for some reason aren't included in MINT lol.

Ive got ET up and running But now I have to small issues, one is the infamous no sound bug, I just cant get it to work, no matter what tutorial I use.

 

The seccond is ETkey, I used the tutorial posted, BUT INGAME I CANT SEEM TO TYPE "/pb_cl_enable; pb_system 1; pb_writecfg; reconnect;" IN SOMEWHERE... THE ½ BUTTON DOSENT SEEM TO RESPOND !

for the etkey, have you tried the etkey generator?

About the sound, (I use an old version of Fedora, not Ubuntu but it should be the same) I can get the sound ingame via et-sdl-sound, you can check Parrot's tutorial, maybe later I could post the script I use to run ET

But, I remember that when I tried ET on Ubuntu (it was version 10 I think) I had the sound on, just by changing the sample rate to 44khz in game.

 

The command is seta s_khz "44" in your et autoexec.cfg, I don't know if you have to restart ET the 1st time, or just a /snd_restart will do the trick.

 

As regards punkbuster, you need to have all the updates if you want to play in servers with pb on. For the etkey alone I don't think it's necessary. But I remember there was a problem regarding having pb in your home folder or in /usr/local/games atm I can't check it, maybe I will post later.

For me pb works fully and I can also connect to servers with pb, the commands do work even now.

After days of searching and trying out difrent tutorials and tips, I finnaly got sound on my ET, with this tutorial

It works well, but now i have "duplucate guid" problems, I have tryed severel time to replace guid from etkey.org, but it still kicks me ! If I start the game without sound theres no problem ! Does anyone have any idea ?

there is no problem without sound you say? strange.... which script do you use exactly to run et with and without?
