Corey Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 The FBI Anti-Piracy Warning that is found on all modern DVD and Blu-ray discs is getting an upgrade. The United States government earlier this week announced that it will require two copyright notices on DVD and Blu-ray discs, Ars Technica reported. The first notice will warn potential piracy thieves, while the second one is meant to educate viewers. All six major movie studios have agreed to include the notices, which we will begin seeing on new discs this week. The screens will “come up after the previews, once you hit the main movie/play button on the DVD.” The warnings will each last 10 seconds and users will not have the ability to skip or fast forward through them. “Law enforcement must continue to expand how it combats criminal activity; public awareness and education are a critical part of that effort,” ICE Director John Morton said in a statement. XenoDeki Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 I think it's just customary to place law enforcement to warn anyone trying to pirate DVDs and Blu-Rays Quote
Krayzie Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Awesome, will give me that much more time to get some popcorn and soda! Besides that no, it won't do anything. Do we pay attention to them as is? Quote
XenoDeki Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 its not gonna change anything :/ I know x( I think it's just there so that it will be considered legit lol xD Quote
Vanaraud Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 (edited) Great. I, as customer giving out money for movies, am punished with more and more useless and stupid non-skippable texts. Maybe they´d consider to provide links to where I could buy movies and DL them legally(I mean those which I could access with totally legit money €\$ but which are restricted because some digits called IP doesn´t fall in certain range atm) instead of spamming the anticipated beginning of movies.
