Tonight, we are gooing to witness the most anticipated server challenge in history. Welcome to tonight's main event, the heavy weight server revival championship of the world. For the hundreds in attendance and the thousands playing ET around the world, Ladies and Gentlemen, let's get ready to rumble =)

 

In the blue corner: F|A Jay 4, server location: France, in desperate need of more talented players, who can revive the server and make it more lively.

 

In the red corner: Who cares. Some no-name server. Not worth mentioning.

 

First Round: Carefully approaching and watching each other's steps. Exchaning evil glares, not daring to take the first hit. But then, Jay 4 has taken the initiative. Wow, completely crushing no-names block, and... It's a knock-out!! Unexpectedly, Jay 4 landed straight away with an upper cut and sent no-name flying! Who would have thought that this server was so entertaining with so many fun guys to play with?? What an experience. You shouldn't miss out on that! It is worth your time.

 

Have you ever thought that Jay 1 is too full? Ever thought that Jay 2 is taken in by pros compared to your own skill? You're too slow for Jay 3? Well you don't need to worry anymore. Do not shed tears but rejoice. Jay 4 might actually be just what you were waiting for!

Do you a know a better way to make Jay 4 more popular

It simply would be great if there were more people joining that server. The way it is now, there are always around ten players and the rest is bots.... When joining, I am always busy putting bots to specs first.

That's right. Jay4 definitely needs an advertisement. I play there a lot and it's crowded only during the weekends. From Monday to Friday bots are always in game. Let's think about some good ways of advertising it.

So perhaps we should start by asking the following questions:

 

1. Why is there so few people playing on Jay 4? Is it due to the map rotation? What might by the reason(s)?

 

2. Where should we do advertisement? It is obvious that anyone on F|A Forum knows about Jay 4. So advertisement here can only be a reminder. But people probably have reasons not to play on Jay 4 (would be interesing to know why)

Also, it is out of question to announce Jay 4 on any other servers, but F|A servers. They probably would ban us, just as we ban them for advertising external servers. What possibilities do we have? Are there any known and frequented community platforms where a Jay 4 ad would be worth the time?

 

I hope some people who are more on the inside of ET communities than me can somehow help out =)

what are the server settings on jay 4?: rapid fire, doublejump,adren? what kind of maps

Settings: No FF, 10 map rotation, Adrenaline ON, Regular Shooting.

 

 

So, the settings are pretty good I think. It is similar to Jay2 (correct me if I am wrong.)

I believe the only difference to Jay 1 is the Adrenaline. (again, correct me if I am wrong.)

 

edit: Also, recently, new maps are being tested on Jay 4 frequently. The standard maps are goldrush, fueldump, battery, etc. But new maps are there as well. A few weeks ago, we could play Lighthouse and Industry, now it is Axis Flugscheibe and mechatronics. You can read about it in this topic here: Map resurrection

But I still hope to somehow keep alive Jay 4 and make people recognize this wonderful server =)

So, please, I would appreciate any contribution to this topic in order to raise interest for Jay4!

Jay4 is rather new compared to our other jaymod servers and when you start a new server, it takes some time to get people there. By the fact that we get more and more admins throughout the whole day on the server now, I believe that the population will grow with time. Besides good settings, regular and good admins are essential to keep a server running.

 

It is hard to build up population on a server but I believe being active there and doing admin work to keep the people entertained combined with good recruiting is the best way to improve the population.

After all those fast-paced massive action on #1,#2 and #3 it's your best place to chill-out.

I like it, now all the junkies will visit Jay4. ^^ Anyway, we gotta do something. This server is really nice but it needs more and more players.

I really like jay4 server...my pings r awesome over there.

Anyway,from my experience, in order to make a server more interesting more members should play there. Its always fun to play with /against a clan members. I dont know why but I'm always bit happier if i manage to kill a member...makes me a bit high...or is it because I'm a junkie?

Theres no need to publish the server, just play there and ppl will come.thats what we used to do in my old clans after getting a new server

In these last days we actually had quite a few members playing on Jay 4 every time I was on.... It is getting better with the time and I hope, thus, more attractive =)

ya it did. just play and have fun, keep it fair and even with teams and kick ugly players.. i kept on coming back because of the members, they were nice and friendly
