RetroLeaves Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I don't really care for all the backstage goings, I'm just glad he's back and I'm excited to see what they're gonna do. Yeah, Lawler is pretty bad, as well. I got into the WWE in 2001, when they had the awesome duo of Ross and Paul Heyman. 1 Quote

RetroLeaves Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 So, let's all stop watching movies then, or playing games, cuz that's all fake, too. In other news, WWE can be awesome when done right. People like The Rock just ooze charisma. Very few can match him, maybe even no one. They need to give more people the chance to shine, then they'll get themselves over. 1 Quote

They're relying a bit too much on older stars, which will be a big problem down the road. Quote
RetroLeaves Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 But the fact is, the older stars draw in the viewers, cuz I think Taker, HHH, and The Rock got people excited for Mania, but I haven't been paying close attention to know for sure. I like seeing older stars, because they got me into wrestling, but it's not like they try to be in the spotlights and not wrestle, like they do it in TNA. I think Dolph Ziggler has something special, too. Even Jack Swagger. But those guys get the shaft because of stupid wrestlers like Santino. Hell, even The Miz had a good run last year, so there's definitely a lot of potential, but they need to go back to the basics in my opinion. Also, less restholds and headlocks, and more technical stuff like Angle and Benoit did back in the day. Maybe Lesnar can bring some of that back. Quote

I think the headlocks and stuff are good for stuff on TV so they don't give away too much on free TV but on PPV's they need to stop doing that and give out real matches. I think the Miz is popping back and the GM storyline helped push him back out of mid-card hell. The same can't be said for Drew unless something happens this SD!. He's one of my favorites ever since he debuted. Quote
RetroLeaves Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I'm not fan of Drew McIntyre yet, but he might be, if he can find his niche and get himself over. The short matches on tv are fine, but on the ppv I need something more - not that I'm paying for them - but still. If I had to pay for them, I'd really want more. It's a shame this stuff does not air in Holland. I like the Crossroads move by Cody Rhodes, those types of finishers are much more effective in my eyes than a Cobra, a WMD by Big Show or even a GTS. Punk needs a better finisher. All of those are nothing compared to the best finisher ever. The Stunner. I never get tired of seeing that one. Quote

Drew WAS over until he was Drafted to Raw, which was the worst thing to do, then he was pulled back to Smackdown months later anyway. Quote

Stone Cold? that was my fav as a kid (im only 23 now ) and Goldberg's spear then Jackhammer. on a side note, you guys shouldnt get so worked up because someone says they dont like wrestling. i cant stand it but i can relate to the joy it brings. i remember as a kid watching WCW and WWF. WCW had all my favs at that time tho. but when i turned 13 and saw a documentary on "Pro" wrestling, it so disappointed me. Hollow ring with a single spring-like thingy in the middle to make the loud slam sounds and bounce. scripts and actors. hurt my feelings actually, lol. and i never looked back at wrestling again. but i will still kick ass in WCW/NWO Revenge and Wrestlemania 2000 on N64 besides, if i said TF2 was a lame game, would you say i dislike F|A for it? no you wouldnt. and just because someone says wrestling is lame doesnt mean that they are saying you're lame. get it? Crasher Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 It doesn't get me worked up, why would they post in a thread on a topic in which they don't like? It makes no sense. Anyways. Quote
