CPU Athlon FX 64

RAM how much memory your pc get (very important) 4 GB

Graphic Card (very important) GeForce 9600GSO

Monitor = display 17" or more + Resolution + Refresh Rate (very important) Samsung 24" LCD, 1920x1080 resolution, 5ms response time

Internet connexion = xdsl or cable or modem (very important) Comcast Cable Modem

Game graphics High or ugly (tell me if you care about the beauty of the game, I mean you want to see all graphic details in the game Or you don't care about that cos you looking only for better performance.)

What resolution you play with (Not your screen resolution but your game resolution) :

I'd opt for better performance with a balance of decent detail but since I mostly play with defaults (I have no cfg to speak of right now) at 800x600, and things do get a little sluggish for me, I'm wondering if changing config will help or getting a Dual SLI 9600GSO setup or just getting a better graphics card or one of the Athlon Quad Core CPUs would help matters.

Help if possible! Thanks in advance. :)

Here you go.. autoexec.cfg

forget dual sli ... it's 2003 game, it don't need much resources as latest games. so what you have here is great. also i set resolution 1280x1024 this is better 800x600 especially for your screen 24"

Thanks Medic! Works like a charm...think I'll need to turn up the brightness since it's plenty dark on my screen now but looks helluva lot nicer than the defaults I've been playing with for years!

here you go master autoexec.cfg

for fov i added this in your config by default i took mouse3 but you can change it if it's already used for another bind, maybe you want it with MWHEELDOWN or MWHEELUP, but mouse3 is better i think

unbind mouse3
bind mouse3 "vstr fovswitch"
set fovswitch "vstr near"
set far "set fovswitch vstr near; set cg_fov 110; echo ^1!! ^3Fov at 110 ^1!!!"
set near "set fovswitch vstr far; set cg_fov 90; echo ^1!! ^3Fov at 90 ^1!!!"
