Krauersaut Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 ??? I have my credit card on my PSN account. So if someone got into my account, they could get my credit card number. But it looks like mine is fine and no theft has taken place. Although we are still investigating the details of this incident, we believe that an unauthorized person has obtained the following information that you provided: name, address (city, state, zip), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login, and handle/PSN online ID. It is also possible that your profile data, including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip), and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers may have been obtained. If you have authorized a sub-account for your dependent, the same data with respect to your dependent may have been obtained. While there is no evidence at this time that credit card data was taken, we cannot rule out the possibility. If you have provided your credit card data through PlayStation Network or Qriocity, out of an abundance of caution we are advising you that your credit card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may have been obtained. NoGooD Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Rooster, With that much data stolen (I'm seeing numbers reported to be around 77 million) it's unlikely that your CC would be used for purchases anytime soon. Many of people will be to lazy to do anything to protect themselves from credit card theft and if that information was obtained, may not find out about it for months. Just keep an eye on your credit for the next year or two. Don't trust that Sony will make a full confession anytime soon. Remember back in 05' when they thought putting rootkits on your computer was the best way to stop you from "stealing" music off a CD you own. (Nope..I never let that one go) Thanks for the info Slayerz Quote

Sony says they'll be bringing online on for a little bit as a test, but it won't be fullly up until the end of the month. Quote

Zaccolbert Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Really glad I've been using a prepaid credit card for the last year, thankfully it comes with fraud protection so my credit card details are all safe, but Sony should reinburse anyone who loses money because of this security breach. Quote
