any solutions to this?

Since the load mod button on the console doesnt seem to work, and the only way to load jaymod seems to be connecting to a server, how the hell are you supposed to watch old demos when the damn versions of jaymod don't let you. The demos in Jaymod don't seem to be backwards compatible. Can someone please either tell me an easy fix or find the bastard that made the mod and so I can introduce him to some concrete galoshes.

Delete or rename the jaymod pk3 and load the one that demo has been made with, done.

I would do this:

1. rename temporarily your jaymod folder to jaymod2

2. make a jaymod folder, and put an old jaymod version pk3 in it

3. make a shortcut for et adding

+set fs_game jaymod

to start it straight away in 'jaymod mode' (so you don't need to connect to a server)

4. watch the demo, then rename your jaymod to jaymod_old, and jaymod2 back to jaymod

Well.. there IS always the aspect that one CAN have more than 1 instance of ET installed ( simply copy and pasting the whole folder into another location makes a new installation.. great for backups) just score an old copy of Jaymod and put it in your client and try it that way. Just one option ...

Personally, I never found an issue with any demos old or new. I just made a new folder in the Main folder called 'demos'(the folder that has Etmain, Jaymod, PB in it that is. Make the new folder in there.). Strangely enuff The Program didnt make the demos folder for there, BUT the ET startup and Main screen have the replays option available. They didnt complete the programming for it.

I put the demo in that newly created folder, start ET, go straight to Replays and run it from there.

To date, Ive never had a demo i couldnt view using this method.

how do I change the shortcut? Sorry it's been too many years since I did that (had it set for etpro forever).

never mind I think I figured it out. new problem:

! C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\jaymod\jaymod-2.0.5.zip: Cannot create cgame_mp_x86.dll

! Access is denied.

! C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\jaymod\jaymod-2.0.5.zip: Cannot create ui_mp_x86.dll

! Access is denied.

when I try to unzip the jaymod version pk3

seriously why the hell do I always seem to have issues with windows NOT letting me do the simplest things sometimes. Access denied on my own f***ing pc???? Remind me to shove my foot up Bill Gates ass....

Anyway, I want to create a vid using jaymod and wish the idiot that created the mod spent a minute of his time on the demo part. Unlike the other mods, jaymod doesn't let you watch a demo from an earlier version of the mod (has to be that exact same version). Worse yet, you can't get rid of the hud at all. You can do cg_draw2d 0 and it gets rid of it, which is great if your using an mp40 but it gets rid of the scope if your a sniper. Just freaking lame. Etpub and Etpro both let you get rid of the hud to make a decent demo.

Any suggestions?

Do like I did here:

So basically record with 1280x1024 resolution, and then use Sony Vegas to edit the video. Inside Sony Vegas use Crop to get rid of bottom and top of the video(use 16:9 crop ratio), so basically HUD disappears but crosshair and "you killed X" text stays and you have 1280x720 resolution video then.

Or another method is to use cg_althud 7, which looks kinda ok.

I think you can even have 2 different jaymods together, lets say one folder called jaymod with the normal one, and one called jaymod2 with the older version, and do a +set fs_game jaymod2, to start the game with the second one, while you work at your movie.

I didn't test it but I guess it should work.

I think what I'm going to do is record each demo twice, one with no 2d and the other with. Just use the one with 2d on in scoped mode and use that sony vegas to edit just the scoped section, then combine the clips.

Haven't figured out Sony Vegas quite yet, but once I do I plan on doing some really cool Jaymod vids from FA.

What is your demo extension? dm_84 or dm_82?

probably both as I use two installs, one 2.55 the other 2.6b

I'm going to do a video too in near future, including some sniping too, I just tested some things here:

Dunno when I'm actually starting the project, might take kinda long :('
