i never heard of half of them and i still get it.

 

Twitter is where people tweet what they will/want to do

Facebook is most often associated with what people have done already

foursquare is location based

Quora is another ask a question and someone answers type of site

Youtube is videos

LinkedIn is where you post things that may get you noticed....your plus side (sort-of-speak)
