COD BLACK OPS Changing Username

maybe im not looking right but on Steam my account name is just Achiyan, but when i play Black Ops my name is Achiyan86. is it possible to change?

I have not been on steam for awhile so i might be a little off.

 

While in-game press Shift + Tab and a new menu should pop up, there should be a tab where you can change your name in it.

In COD: Black Ops, you can now add the unallowed symbols into clan tags by editing your config. We can now set our clan tags to =FA=, and would be able to have =F|A= if the limit for clan tags wasn't 4 characters. :/

 

Anyways, you can find your config here:

 

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\call of duty black ops\players\config_mp.cfg

 

 

And the setting for you clan tag should be this:

 

seta clanName "=FA="

You can wear tags in every games =F|A= supports. (If you are member of =F|A=)

Accepted for one game, drafted for all games lol I imagine if you make a config you can also permanently set your name there with something along the lines of seta name Achiyan (or something along those lines)

Yes i was a member, it was early december. I don't remeber seeing anyone say anything, i just remeber a message saying "kicked for tags".

 

Personally i don't really care though because i don't play ET that much

clarification.. in black ops the official tag is =FA= because we are limited to 4 characters, and because of this cannot use =F|A=. I don't want to see a whole new slew of tags again
