He follows hitboxes not players. When I watch anyone else with his ping 'being around 40-70' they aim directly on the players to get hits, when I watch him, he's always aiming behind the player at the hitbox.

 

:lol this is the proof that brains are inversely proportional to skill, every time I hear 'skilled' players talking about the way the game works they say a lot of bs. After all skill = reflexes, they might not know shit about hitboxes, etc. so it makes sense.

 

 

let's explain some things:

 

1. In the server there are *no* players models, just the player's coordinates, on those coordinates the server builds the bodybox, just by adding some offsets for the corners.

As regards the headbox, after b_realhead was added to etpro (and the code was given to etpub team by Zinx, so it's possible to see it), the server calculates the offset for the head from the animation, and this offset is added to the aforementioned set of coordinates. (before b_realhead it was like etmain and rtcw)

Bottom line: the hitboxes on the server can never be away from the player's coordinates, because they are calculated as offsets from those xyz coordinates. The rest can be funny jokes like the polish player hitboxes in 'just pub' comic, but nothing serious.

 

2. The players you see on the screen (in your client, that is) come from server snapshots, which are based on the same coordinates. So there is no point (if you play with antilag) in aiming at other places other than the player itself. (Valid in theory, and tested in practice on an etpro server with spread removed).

And even if there was a difference from what you see and what is happening on the server, due to warping players, and the fact that snapshots come every 20th of a second, while player messages can reach the server any time, even an aimbot couldn't predict that.

 

 

3. The reason why in demos (and when you spec) the aim is not on target.

- when you move your mouse/keyboard, you should wait for the server to receive this message and then you will see yourself moving. This would be unplayable, so they made the so-called 'client prediction'. That is, you move your mouse and your client makes you move at once, but your message hasn't reached the server yet, so you see yourself 'in the future'.

 

- Enemies, instead, are 'in the past' for 2 reasons: your ping, and server snapshot interpolation (that is, when you receive a snapshot it's not displayed at once, but an interpolation between the last 2 ones is made, unless you use timenudge, which is forbidden on etpro anyway), so you see enemies in the past, because of your ping, plus these extra 50 milliseconds (1/20th of a second).

 

- When you record a demo (even a demo of yourself) or you spec someone, you see the stream of data from the server, that is what 'happened' on the server (actually not because you see it at 20fps, while in the server things could happen more often). In other words, you don't see what they saw (demo) or see (spec).

 

This is the reason why you see people aiming behind the target, and not on the target. You would see them aiming on the target if they played without antilag.

But I don't think anyone with a brain would play without antilag even in lan since, as I said before, you have 50ms of delay even if your ping is 0.

@raider: i know rockstars brother, F4UXX. he was in our clan for some time and he is 16!!!very nice&serious guy, leaved us because time zone was too hard for him&us. this guy has never build SLAC or other shit!LOOL...of course i know the story about rockstar and how he increase his skill-but dont forgett->this is a story..:)

we play a lot of evenings vs. vodka and he is hittable..:)..even when he has a ping over 150.

 

you write here a long story with a lot of (?????). maybe you understand what i want to say..:)

And here i thought people finally stopped playing this game..

 

I can't remember having a problem with parker that much.. only his pancho-villa style toggles, huge pack of fanboys, and his nut-hugging arrogance. Other than that it's just like playing any other person, occasionally having a few good games if everyone shuts the hell up for a map or two.

edit: THAT MAP WAS AMAZING, so was missile. theyre both awesome maps. beats goldrush and overplayed supply..

anti-lag is turned off in competition configs now days, yes euro competition configs (clanbase, NC etc.)are so dumb with prone delay, no hitsounds on explosives, no anti-lag, and the capping of several cvars that are unnecessary. I wouldn't use the configs if I had a choice, but unfortunately that is all any idiot of today wants to play on.

 

About that Kardon incident, we were all Americans on an American server with a Euro config (no anti-lag). Usually he doesn't aim behind the guys, but for this and several other WTF moments where he takes out like 3-4 guys in impossible scenarios he was for sure aiming behind the models at the hitbox. 4 people saw it as we all died and all of us agreed after he left that it was a moment of suspicion even though we jokingly said wtf was that Kardon, nice bot when it happened. He snaped 100 degrees right on a backraging medic to 3 dink him in full sprint strafe (one step left, 3 right), then snapped back 100 degrees left to a target strafing on a box dropping off for cover (in which he doubled dinked him in the strafe and finished on his drop), then a full 180 to the last engineer to 3 dink pistol. This all happened in about 6-8 seconds from which the first 2 shots were aimed behind the players who strafed, and the 180 pistol was directly on the head of the engineer running towards him in an offset manner. It was the speed, aiming behind the targets, and perfection of snapping and tracking from which everybody was like wtf was that. I'm sure the guy has some skill, as I see it in his strafe but there's so many imperfections and stupidity behind his gameplay to believe that he can achieve these almost impossible shots so often. He sprints in front of his engys as a med not even noticing who is behind them and where and how the pushes are taking place. I've had specs watch him in scrims and they tell me he waves his aim all around looking mostly at/through walls and then changes course of direction from which is always seems to be the safest never back raged way to go. His shot looks automated and not mouse moved and about half the time he's aiming at the model and others behind the player with no anti-lag on with both high and low ping. I expect that from the high ping, but their is no way he should be aiming 1-1.5 body lengths behind a model and getting perfect registration. Like he is aiming behind the player as if he was lagging, but when the player dropped off the box his aim dropped immediately and not delayed as if he was following a delayed model but maintained consecutive registration.

 

Another thing that I would like to touch on is that when I scrim, I find myself playing better against known good smart players than when I play against these random new players who recently popped up since 08 and are said to be good shots. I just cannot land hits on these guys, not because of their movements, I can track their movements easily with my eyes, but because it feels as though my bullets spread around them or just go through them as if there was no hitbox to begin with. When I accuse somebody of being unhittable I often do test in warmup between rounds to see if I was just seeing shit, and so often I find that their hitbox warps. About 6 weeks ago I was playing against Kardon in warmup aiming right at his chest, and I would land hits until he crouched, every time he crouched he would go completely unhittable even when he was just standing there and I would be dead center with either his throat, head, or chest. The bullets would literally not register and go right through him however no matter how hard I strafed he would land damn near every shot. Now I've been doing this on a daily basis and it happens every single time, not just a one time fluke, each time he crouches it is the same thing, I go from landing every hit on his strafe to nothing at all no matter where I aim when he crouches even when he is not hitting me. I sometimes will crouch and find my cursor directly on his face and 3 4 5 6 shots all go through the model. I also notice that these players who seem unhittable often appear as though their shoulders and heads twist and distort more so when they crouch, kind of like the +shrug trick that would render the model moving but leave the hitboxes untouched, so that it would appear as though their shoulders and arms would be somewhere they are not causing you to aim slightly off.

 

 

Another thing is when I re-watch the demos in slomo before I delete them my cursor is directly on him but no registration will occur. I guess my question is why is it when I play top players whom clearly display skill through their game smarts as well has shots and play with their team, do I have no problems landing my shots but these few guys who have re-aliased or have been caught are still unhittable as they were from back in the day of when they did get caught. It just seems as though they should have to prove their legitness before everyone forgives them and allows them to play competitively. If they do that I will most certainly forgive them for cheating and lying to me long ago, but until then I feel as though it's like the "fool" saying but applied in the sense of trusting a known liar- "Trust a liar once and shame on you, Trust a liar twice and shame on me."

 

At least Opiate is blunt and tells you he is hacking, that I can respect because he is not going around wanting people to believe he is good, he is just doing it for shits n giggles. It's one thing when your just farting around and allowing everyone to know your doing it, it is another to not tell anyone, deny it, and accuse people of being worse than you when your cheating. I'm not even religious and I find that downright immoral and pathetic. It is just another way to show you how these people act in real life, and how they view and respect the people around them. They may not show it to everyone, but they still have that nature within themselves in the choices the make. I only write these long detailed post to collect and gain opinions from others who may or may not feel the same way, as the public voice of concern is the one of the best ways to change those around us hopefully for the better.

 

 

On a side note, I laughed at the video of parker(yes I know this is a joke). Seriously who ever made this video had to be high.... Parker's 2nd favorite map after frostbite included with bullet tracers and clear sound distinction of enemy location and it is a youdecide video... sound + tracers + map knowledge = easy blind snaps. Only a dumb fool would even consider questioning this. The one on adler is better where he strafes with his cursor not moving on a wall but is lined up with an enemy through it is better. That shit happens all the time though, I find myself all the time aiming at edges of corners and as I come across the corner so is an enemy lined up perfectly. But didn't he make the youdecide videos LOLOL

 

edit: Don't think dator was at lan but he's been around since rtcw when he was in beta and dominated in et early years at the top level, but he has won prize money from GGL I think. His shot has always looked legit, as you can see his mouse movements more clearly than alot of the newer players who look automated. If a player has been around for so long, never been caught, and looks clean, then they most likely are, again the people I pointed out are either brand new, or caught hackers who claim to be clean now, in which they all shoot just as good or better than these top skill proven players. Those 2 were just examples of some of the top skill players whom shots seem to be outshined by these so called "legit pro's of today".

You serious? I want grenade sounds so I can tell how many people I just hit in a blind hallway, also when I take that shot, their almost immediately in my view from which I'm not entirely sure of the approximate hp their at. Did my nade go just past them and their full hp, or are they nearly dead so I can predict my advancement to the next target. It completely changes the way you have to play, another stupid euro setting to change gameplay for the no reason. Also it helps when you throw lotto nades and other spam that can indicate where enemies are or will be. For instance your spam one nade, turn around to cover another direction on call out, and an enemy who got hit by your nade comes from behind and takes your out. Well every year until last you would have heard that hitsound and would of been able to make the proper play, but for some unknown reason the clanbase admins feel as though explosives don't need hitsounds. Same thing can apply if you spam a nade and you hear 3 hits, you can call out the spot for your team and they can react. The euro competition leagues turned this game into an every spawn push out and kill out game, from which completely negates the need to build strategies. It just feels like today's competition is so based on luck of spawns, push out spam, and lack of strategy to win a game. I feel as the hitboxes are shit now, there are 10x the hackers, idiots, trash talkers, and people who don't have a clue about teamwork that it just kills the fun in competition. That is why I am so thankful that pub clans such as F|A host good servers and maintain them. I feel as though this is why et players continue to stick around in the game, because they usually have some server to go to and have fun, and since they still play the game they can still scrim every now and then. Without the pubs, I think people who still play et comp would probably of quit long ago and went to a different game because there would be nothing to do during down time.

 

on a side note who has xp bars ranks n shit turned on in et pro? All that useless crap comes right off my hud when its scrim time. Reduce or remove everything that doesn't play critical roles via face, hp, real time not game, bind key for chat toggle on/off, and reduce console size and make it transparent. I have all my weapons bounded to keys along with drawgun 0/1 attached. weapon 4 and up get drawgun 1, rest get 0. Helps maximize visibility when I shoot, but shows important stuff like needle, grenades, packs to see ticks and when I can immediately use it next. I use settings to help me see more clearly but I don't tweak my settings to make me hard to hit, or things of that nature. In the world of competition everyone seems to do it, and if you don't you will be destroyed. XP bars take up barely any room, but again I'm not about to glance down at it when I'm expected to be shooting as a guy appears, normal hitsounds would fix that.

 

But can you seriously say that you play better without explosive hitsounds? And what can you honestly say about explosive hitsounds that made them so impossible to allow, like how did it make the game better by removing them when it is a default setting. So far all the euro config changes helped screw the game into making it just a camp push out lotto fest to where it removes the tactical strategy from it. In the beginning when et was at maximum competition population there was no prone delay, punkbuster instead of shit slac, hitsounds for all weapons, 30/30 ammo for MEDICS, 4 rnade shots instead of 3, mortar, MG, unnecessary cvar restrictions, XP for a short time!!!, hitboxes that registered regardless of settings, and a few other things that I'm probably forgetting. I can't remember ever complaining about someone being unhittable my first 4 years of ET until hackers attacked punkbuster and it became punkbuster a/b when cod4 came out. But my point is that the game back then was 20 times better than now, and well it just sucks that such a few people (cb admins) determine how the game is to be played for everyone left in competition. Theres nothing to be done but wait for brink which will hopefully take off. Every other game after ET has failed miserably to mimic the arcade shooter team objective feeling that can produce a real prominent competition. Halo is fun I guess but it sure is no ET, and COD competition blows due to all the camping and 1-3 shot kills the moment you step out of a door. I never got into TF2 and I wish I did, but WOW and LoL have been the only games since ET to satisfy my competitive crave but those aren't shooters so meh.

I know everyone in the world things i have this huge ego, I know i have an ego, but im not one to go around starting shit up with people just for fun like the majority of na players and a good portion of eu players.

 

The parker I knew back then had huge ego, especially when people criticized his frag movies "The inner sense" or some shit, he would call them lowbobs, fags, "I wanna see you do a better movie" etc... this was also the time people were saying he used a hack on ETTV, but who knows if that's even true, I wish SLAC was out when NA was active. NA had a lot of rats that needed to be cleaned out, especially Amp'd gaming and dtr ...

 

*Edit* also yes, example sandbag is better imo than parker, but I don't know where sandbag came from :D

 

Once again, I dont think i have/had this huge ego that your stating I have. Ive always wondered why everyone in NA has always thought this, when in reality, i contributed to the community for many many years and still do to this day. People like keith aka shaftz0r and many criticized my "inner sense" videos, where i did "defend" myself and state "why dont you make your own frag video before criticizing someone else's" and I stand by that. If someone is just going to talk shit about a fun video I made, then why the hell wouldnt i say something in return and why is my reaction to their shit considered egotistical? keith has never been anything more then the 7th wheel, trailing behind the best players in NA, never achieving the skill to be considered one of the best players. To this day hes still a shit bag and still talks mad shit, causing problems like he always has and probably always will. (hes one of many) If you consider my statement above egotistical, its the truth, and if you do your NA homework you'd know that I haven't stated anything false.

 

In addition, all of the you decide videos besides joynt's little fanboi video "You Decide 4 - vR*Parker" were a short clip of someone calling me out for cheats. The 5th one which came from ETTV was brought onto the wocen forums by the known cheater ravaha aka buttonsjr (who I busted for cheats twice) in spite, trying to get me caught because he was pissed that we turned his sorry ass in. There i was railed by the NA community again where some of the well known na players agreed with him, trying to get me banned, so yes it was kinda funny how dumb the clip was and how stupid they must feel for calling me out on it.

 

I dont know that guy that much but seemd a cool guy when i talked to him.

 

But I could agree to statement about makeng some fragg movie by yourself before criticeing others so dunno if it is big ego lol
