Earthquake map

In my opinion, as well as others comments in-game, can an alternate map be put in this one's place? Maybe a poll can be conducted and see if a change is needed or not. My opinion of course is mine alone but I for one dont like that map at all. Not biotchin, simply posting it here like the forum states to do.

I think I know which map you are talking about, vesuvius_rev, and I agree, the map is bad.

 

I'll list some reasons:

 

1. The objective is ridiculous, having an objective run like that would require teams to be stacked, and there is no certainty of the security of the objective even in that case.

 

2. The Church flag can only be secured in the later parts of the map, when the truck has been escorted. This is after overcoming two gates, a variety of reasonably easy Axis camping spots, a very difficult path to the objective, then an objective run all the way back to the first spawn.

 

3. There is only one advanced flag for Allies in the whole map, which is extremely stupid for a map of its size

 

4. The whole right hand side is pretty much dead space, taking up valuable computer space

 

5. This is a big one. I have no idea what sort of shit the map maker was smoking when he made it, as the map is comfortably able to fit 50 people, but the doorways, all the doorways are too small to fit 2 people.

 

6. The earthquake shit is just not funny. Maybe that was the drug he was taking at the time telling him it would be hilarious, but its not, and is affecting accuracy, as the shaking goes on for 15-20 secs, not 3-5 secs.

 

I hope I have provided some more-than-whining critisisms of the failures of the map, and I too hope that it will be replaced.

i totally agree with the above post by butterz, i hate this map and so do many others , when this map comes around a lot of players will leave or sit in spec for the duration of the map

I love this map. So far I havent see anyone leave or go spec during that map. It just seems that etkids keep on hatin any good old map we put on.

Map is good. you ppl don't even learn anything about objectives, paths etc. of new maps... but just run atm to whine for it.

 

 

Only prob I see with this map is little drop in FPS or else its a good map.

After having learnt the paths, objective (singular), I still dislike the map. Every single time I have played Allies, I have been an Engineer, going directly for the objective, and there are basically 3 ways the map can go

 

1. Allies don't get out of first area due to small pathways, well-placed arty and MG's, and the natural tendancy of Allied players to preserve their e-lives.

 

2. Objective is done by rambo, rambo escorts truck all the way, and map can be done in under 4 minutes

 

3. Truck is arrested next to church, as the huge hallway, surrounding area can be camped out by everything imaginable\

 

For this map, I have gone solely as rambo engineer, and I still cannot see how you can appreciate this map. I have tried to learn it, I enter it with an open mind without bias every single time I play it, to try and find something which will impress me, and every single time it has failed.

I think the map itsself is amazing, but I suck at it =/

 

It'd be very easy for me to say "It's horrible, get rid of it" because the truth is; I SUCK (yeah, more than usual) at this map.

 

But without lying, I cannot say it's because the map sucks. Only that I suck, and haven't mastered the map yet.

 

Overall, as much as I might say "Nightmare map." when playing it, it's in fact a good map, but so big i'm overwhelmed by it right now.. At least until I've mastered it, and found my prime locations for fragging.

I really like the map and i always love to play new maps. But to me the Vesuv map is not only good about the graphics, its something new and different with the shakings and teamwork is really needed, which i really prefer.

First version of this map ( it isnt that old imho , kinda like 3 years max) is crap , and all trys to make it better , shorten it or varying it , also resulted in a crap map , Period !
