duplicate servers?

Hey, noticed today after upgrading to the latest version of ETL that some of the servers are showing up twice, this was especially interesting as some users were on both servers, IE we had Thompson Girl playing alone on one of the silent recruiting servers, and the other one had 20 players on it. Screenshot of the servers I'm seeing, only #2 XPSAVE FOREVER and Silent RECRUITING XPS

 

@United Blood mentioned @daredevil had been working on the systems, so not sure if this is intended or not, just wanted to bring it up

Most US servers are being moved to a new "jay#2" machine, so some FA servers will appear as duplicates in the ET Server Browser, for a short time.

 

I will make a formal announcement of the change later today.

 

I had connected to the 'new' IPs yesterday and each 'duplicate' machine was running different maps.  I  notice today that in @madjimmie's SSs the duplicate servers are showing the same player-counts as their twin, which had not expected.  

 

People can join the 'new' servers by using the Domain names, such as "/connect jay2.clan-fa.com".  Our servers have changed IPs occasionally over the years, which is why I tell all to use "/connect silent1.clan-fa.com" and such and not the IP, which can changer.

 

The leases on the old machine should expire soon and there will be no confusion on the ET Browser anymore.

Yes, the Old Servers do not respond when connecting to their Old IPs now.  I got "waiting for connection" and TBS does not show "Twin servers".

 

We have a few more "things to do", but the main issues are fixed now, especially players alone on ''old servers'' and wondering "Where is everybody?"  😄
