Rayyanwilson Posted June 13 Posted June 13 Hope you all doing fantastic! I got a question to ask, I'm a designer by profession that means I have to work in front of an screen and I love gamming in my free time, which means my screen time is around 11 hours a day causing eye redness, neck pain, tiredness and inflation sensation in eyes. Since we all are gamers here and have longer screen time, I wanna know how do you guys manage this and share any tips , tricks which can help us. 1 Quote
Shoresy Posted June 13 Posted June 13 Honestly: not even being funny or sarcastic. Spend some time out doors. Especially when really sunny. That vitamins n such in the atmosphere and that the sun gives off they say gives your mindset basically a refresh if you will. Even if your just sitting enjoying the day, do some gazing around looking at things that are not too far but much further than the screen. I’m sure there is tons of ways. But I find myself in this predicament time to time. I spend my work life focusing on small details such as shaving .0012 inches off a steel block to wiring up a board that has over 100 wires. Then I come home relax and game haha. But I notice even just sitting out side for 45 min a day at least does major help 4 1 Quote
Smashy Posted June 13 Posted June 13 Blue light blocking glasses. My prescription has it, but being that in my line of work we’re often sitting writing medical histories in the computer, everyone I work with uses them and it tends to help their headaches, and eye burn out. 2 Quote
Doodlebug Posted June 13 Posted June 13 Equip the flamethrower and wowsers; looking at the screen(/aiming) is now optional 3 1 Quote

I spend a lot of time of the day in front of the screen almost every day. I use blue light blocking glasses, there are a lot of types of them on the market, u can choose any that suit you. Btw, in backdays, i didnt trust them, I thought they were useless, but after two years of working with them, I radically changed my mind. But you shouldn’t deceive yourself, even with them, your vision will still gradually deteriorate, this is not a panacea And of course, eye training, some exercises which can help relieve tension and fatigue It’s better to take a break after an hour or two of work, walk around, make coffee, smoke, etc. or something like that, or simply do a warm-up 2 Quote
Lt Steiner Posted June 18 Posted June 18 This sounds a lot like dry eyes. If you have had this issue for a prolonged time now, I recommend seing a physician about it to find out the cause of it. Culprit could be both a quantitative or a qualitative deficiency (changes in the composition of the tear film which leads to tears evaporating too quickly). For the time being, artificial tears and avoiding prolonged stays in air-conditioned rooms can alleviate the symptoms. Also make sure to take regular breaks, even just taking a break of 5 minutes every hour has an effect. 1 Quote

Zampano Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Try installing f.lux program on your computer. It changes the color temperature of your computer display according to the time of day and your location. 1 Quote
