Smashy Posted May 18 Posted May 18 (edited) So I finally upgraded my computer, I was playing on a intel arc and hated it. Played ET decent though. Anyway, I now have a skytech shiva 2. Nvidia RTX 4060, w/ I7 12700, 32gb ddr4 @ 3200 Mhz. Any help would be much appreciated. Edited May 18 by Smashy Quote

Dimo4ka Posted May 18 Posted May 18 In theory there shouldn't be any problems. Anyway, If so, write here and send screenshots 2 Quote
Platinum VIP Kojootti Posted May 18 Platinum VIP Posted May 18 From Nvidia control panel, turn the threaded optimization Off for Et. Other than that, you should be more than good with those specs 2 Quote
Lt Steiner Posted May 18 Posted May 18 What exactly are the problems: low average framerate or an unstable framerate (framedrops)? What is your targeted framerate (com_maxfps in the console) and what framerate do you actually achieve? Quote

I’m thinking it’s running smoother and I’m just not used it 😳 must be used to over compensating. I started with fresh config this morning and added stuff little by little and it’s working better. I just have to work out the flow I want, I guess. 6 hours ago, Kojootti said: From Nvidia control panel, turn the threaded optimization Off for Et. Platinum VIP Kojootti Posted May 19 Platinum VIP Posted May 19 You could also set Low Latency Mode - Ultra Max Frame Rate - Off obviously Power Management Mode - Prefer Maximun Performance Don't forget to check https://antman.info/wolf/cvar/ 1 Quote
HarryAimpotter Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Also, with newer Nvidia drivers there is "Vulkan /OpenGL preset method" this must be set to "prefer native". If not, you will get ~30% fps reduction in ET. 4 1 Quote

Not sure where Low Latency Mode is 2 Quote

I do dogs and cats, sometimes bunnies and reptiles 🤣 Everything is in Nvidia Control Panel. I would set Low Latency Mode to Ulta in global settings and Power management mode and Max frame rate for Legacy/Et only. Vulkan / OpenGL is also in Nvidia control panel but i have my settled in auto. I have to try native option to see if i see any changes Quote
Smashy Posted May 19 Author Posted May 19 I just found that the mouse I got with said computer is going downward everytime I click the button, so that could be why I’m sucking way more than usually despite the badass PC. 2 Quote
