Just wanted to share.

Up-to-date includes ET: Legacy commands as well for the best performance. Works both on jaymod and etpro.

Don't forget to change resolution and r_displayrefresh according to your monitor hz.

If you are not using Legacy set r_colorbits 32 or the colors will look funny

Ok, I tested your cfg with ETlegacy and I have to say, its one of the best I've seen fps wise.

With your cfg I got an average timedemo fps 433 and with my cfg I got 445.

You loose:

~7 fps with cg_drawgun 1,

~5 fps with r_subdivisions 20 ( 999 is max)

~5 with r_ignorehwgamma 1

Also just to be clear, there is no point in adding com_hunkMegs, com_soundMegs, com_zoneMegs to your cfg. These values are set once the game in launched and cannot be changed after that. The only way to set them is in the shortcut target line.

Also, r_primitives command is not recognized by legacy client. Other than that, very good config, no unnecessary lines.

Another thing I'd like to point out is that according to my testing there is no difference in performance between different texture modes  (r_texturemode)

According to all manuals GL_NEAREST_MIPMAP_NEAREST should give best fps and GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_LINEAR should have worst fps, but in testing I have found no difference.

So I use the best textures (GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_LINEAR)

  • r_drawgun 0 for better aim
  • r_subdivisions 20 is actually max it is forced but doesnt hurt using 999
  • r_ignorehwgamma increases enemy contrast makes enemies more visible
  • you are right about megs.
  • I use my config on vanilla as well thats why I kept r_primitives
  • GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_NEAREST creates gaps between leaves and makes it easier to see the enemy through foliage in some cases otherwise its kinda useless 😄

Ok, that is news to me, I have to look into it. Im not sure what is the actual max on subdivisons.
