My Windows started crashing whenever I did anything...Went on Web, Played a Movie...

So I bought a used replacement Motherboard compatible with all my stuff(Homebuilt socket FM2+).

https://www.amazon.com/Wendry-Motherboard-Mainboard-Interface-Computer/dp/B07Y7WQMRJ/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=fm2+motherboard&qid=1660518678&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&smid=A2GOQFDBDTKF2M

It came without driver disc, Web search turned up no website for support.

I sure won't do that again, But it was a matter of Money.

I was able to get chipset driver from AMD and use My old Motherboard's driver disc to install LAN and USB.

I was lucky!  All is good and like It was.

I should have researched better and bought MB from Company with support downloads.

I use Win7x64, Win10 would have downloaded and installed all drivers needed during install.

Only if the Windows 10 install already had the driver for the NIC card, otherwise it wouldn't be able to download anything through install. ;)

I've had that problem a few timea in the past 20 years.  If I remember correctly, two times it was the PSU and one time it was the memory.  I haven't had to research this in a while but I think PSU's are often the cause.  PSU's seem to be the last piece of hardware people check as well, and unfortunately, thwy replace half the PC before they figure it out.

There's also the chance that I'm confusing this with a different problem 😁

I have had at least 3 bad power supplies that created intermittent problems on my PC & 2 end of life vid cards that did the same.  It's a nightmare problem because most people only don't have a spare to swap out and you are never sure until you do it.

To rule out software, I usually use a boot disk/thumb drive and run some burn in software overnight (GPU/CPU/Memmory).   If it lasts without crashing, that usually gives me a warm & fuzzy the hardware is good.

Thanks!  Totally fixed now.

I bought a used CPU, New Motherboard(Wendry) and Power Supply.

What I was doing wrong was installing MB drivers from My old system.

It was a replacement motherboard, So I figured They would work.

Motherboard has A-88 chipset, I went to AMD and got A-88G Chipset drivers.

I didn't install any motherboard drivers, Just the chipset.

I used to old installer for Realtek LAN, Went to Realtek for Sound drivers.

Tried Win10 figuring It would download and install correct drivers during setup.

It did and ran fine except Enemy Territory would crash after a few Minutes.

It was a bad LAN cable.  Now I'm back to My Win7x64, Have a new modern mouse and Pad(HyperX).

Glad to be back on Jay1.

AMD says that chipset drivers are not necessary since FM2.

They are handled by the CPU.

But, As i was looking through the chipset driver readme(s),

It says that the USB flter driver is needed for My CPU(Richland).

So, I installed just that.

All good!

Chipset drivers I found from AMD: A88G (Gaming class motherboard) work great for Win7 32 and 64 versions.

I use realtek LAN and sound drivers.

I found the factory where motherboard is made:

Legacy devices are a pain in the arse as your case shows. Respect to your persistence but you have waaay more patience than i, i'd have probably thrown it through the window a good while ago.

I use AMD Install Manager for Chipset, USB and SATA.

Install Realek LAN and  MB Sound

No additional motherboard drivers needed.

All Good!
