AntiThought
It is time to replace my CPU so I can, money allowing, buy (and play) CoD:BO. It is a long shot but I never know if I don't try. I am wondering if anyone has a properly functioning CPU they may be willing to donate, trade, and/or sell. These are the basic requirements of what I am looking for. AMD CPU that fits either AM2 or AM2+ socket. 2+ cores preferable. 2.6GHz or more Must require 95W or less power.

These fall in line with what your requirements are. I"m not sure if your US based Anti, but if you are I'd recommend newegg for obvious reasons http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103679 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103677 #edit: Shit, somehow one of the ones I originally posted was a Sempron...lol. AntiThought
I have a good working AMD Athlon 64 x2 im not using. Do you want it? Sorry it took so long to reply back. I may be able to OC that 2.2GHz to what I need but I am going to see if I can find one that doesn't need OCing first (OCing makes me nervous). i recomend u switch to AM3 socket just cus its gona be more future proof, will u be overclocking the CPU I would upgrade to an AM3 but if I bought a new motherboard I could not afford a CPU to go with it. That proc will do 2.6 with no problems provided you have adequate cooling (just a decent air cooling setup will do) and a motherboard capable of providing overclocks. It will put you over your 95w thermal requirements though I have the same proc on a 939 chipset and have tested it at 2.8 via Prime w/o problems. For the low price I originally paid for it I've been quite happy with it. Plus if it's free-fifty-free, what the hell right? Curious what are you currently upgrading from? NoGooD
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+ If thunder is willing to give it, I'd at least send him a case of brews. That would be a good upgrade from the 3600, especially if you spend $30-40 on an upgraded cooler for it. Just checked newegg, here's a couple of decent coolers for around $20-40 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233003&cm_re=cpu_cooler-_-35-233-003-_-Product http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118020&cm_re=cpu_cooler-_-35-118-020-_-Product http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118047&cm_re=cpu_cooler-_-35-118-047-_-Product Also if you need OCing help. Giving us a full descript of your motherboard and BIOS version makes it much easier to assist with those kinds of things should you decide to go that route. Just keep in mind that if the 95w requirement you stated is mandatory, OCing will likely push you past that limit. It does a decent cooling for the price (even though it is coolermaster lol). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065
AntiThought
Thanks for all the input. Unfortunately due to a situation with a now ex- basement user (technically renter although we are still waiting to see money) that I will not go into at this time- it appears that I will not have any money to buy either a CPU or COD:BO at this time. I am sorry to have waisted everyone's time.
