I`m trying to adjust my screen brightness but about a second or two after making the changes it will revert back to the original setting. Does anyone have any ideas on why this is happening?

how do you adjust it?

if its console usually you do /seta r_gamma [number]

then

/vid_restart

Thanks but I figured out it was a program that was running. I use Iris to reduce blue light and I had to disable it before playing the game. Appreciate the response though.

Thanks for sharing your solution after asking for help with the problem.  It might help someone in the future.

You might be surprised at how many never "come back" to say if our suggestions helped them or if they had found a solution.

Hi everyone,

just updated to WIN10 now I cant change the gamma anymore. The bar isn´t working at all and also if I try to use the console, just nothing happens, even after vid_restart (just restarting but without my settings) 😧

Can somebody help me?

Thanks in advance

Its a windows 10 issue afaik, if you have 2 monitors disconnect your second one then start ET and see if the slider moves (this works for me) or if you can up the gamma using \r_gamma value in console.

I've just changed the monitor settings ingame and saved to one of the monitor profiles so i don't have to bother.

You also got Nvidia graphics card??

Hey there,

Yes you r right, I´m also using 3 monitors, so I´ve to disconnect every of them unless the one I use to play for, and yes I´m also using a nvidia card.

How I´m able to save to a certain monitor profile within et?

I've used the actual monitor settings i play ET on mate, i didn't use software or in game settings.

I couldn't be bothered having to disconnect my 2nd monitor or messing with mapoverbrightbit and in game settings or trying to figure the issue with Nvidia panel etc etc....... so i took the easiest option for me.

I loaded ET, used the actual monitor settings to set contrast, brightness and gamma to make ET look good then i saved the settings to a monitor user profile (my monitor has 3 user presets). Now when i load ET i just switch my monitor profile from standard to user mode 1 or 2 by pressing the buttons on my monitor.

You can either do the same and use your actual monitor to set brightness etc or you can wait and see if anyone knows a fix mate, i'm yet to find one other than disabling my other monitor when i play ET.

Thank you for your help

I´ve done it now that way:

1. switched all monitors off, within nvidia setups (except the one i use to play)

2. opened et and set up my config

3. closed et

4. switched on my other monitors

5. opened et and enjoyed

this works for me, because the setup is persistent after switching on my displays.
