sorry for late reply. I found at that it actually does work, just not quite as i expected. it opens up a new game as i said, but it also patches my normal game to the correct patch that i pick. so, it works and many thanks to you guys on this forum

I downloaded it, it looks awesome, but it doesn't seem to have 'linked up' with my existing game/profile. When I boot up the game through it it asks for a new profile and doesn't list any game servers

So, I decided to try out promod on Wednesday to see if people were really good there, as the 'promod' name might imply. The server I played on people were generally pretty skilled, the demand on alertness was pretty high, but oh the complaining and whining and disrespect. I didn't dare type anything for fear of drawing attention to myself. They never stop. I didn't do too badly (luckily, or I would've been hassled) pretty close to 1:1 k/d most rounds. Now, the dilemma is I didn't think through how to get back to 1.6. The promod servers all seemed to want 1.7, so I patched, but I don't think there's an 'uninstall patch'. So, I'm wondering if I have to reinstall my game to get back to the decent people who play =FA= servers. I'm probably not the first fool to do this, so any thread redirects are welcome too. I'm kind of a fan of beer and games too... Unfortunately this time of year games are interspersed with essay writing which is better done totally sober... maybe... I should try the alternative to that

I could be mistaken but I could swear an old clanmate of mine when I played ET (real programmer techy sort) said the acc and dmg for mp40/thomp were the exact same. That the only difference was the sound they made when shooting. . . That said, I prefer Thompson and will pick up an enemy gun just for that reason sometimes if I'm on axis

I pretty much agree with Duckie; strategizing tactics on a pub server might be a bit of overkill.. . But it can be fun too, used to do it in ET to hold down certain areas and have a good crossfire/cover system set up. But its more a scrim/match tool re: strats; on the casual side, heck yeah, I love hearing ridiculous stories from people on vent, greatly increases the social side of gaming

Hi Everyone, I just got beat by Mist on F|A forums in a kill contest so now I have to introduce myself and apply on these forums. I got into 1st person shooters when I was about 17 playing Wolf:ET. Played that pretty competitively for about 4 years, then casually for another 4. Used to play Cal:0, TWL:B, (1 season Alpha) for a team called nde (never die easy); founded by myself and my friend veej. Just got into Call of Duty: MW after Christmas. Decided it was the better deal vs. MW2 which I heard had no dedicated servers. Everyone in F|A on COD servers seems really nice and sociable, which lured me here more than anything. Should thank Gator, Theo, Thor, Mist, Speed, and I'm sure there's others that I'm embarrassingly going to forget to mention but, anyway. Pleased to make everyone's acquaintance, looking forward to gaming more with those who enjoy FA servers Rory
