ET crash

I recently /exec'd the cfg Medic made for me. I joined ETPUB and the game crashed. It send me to the main menu with an error msg which I didn't quite see because the screen was to dark (this happened multiple times). It said something along the lines of 8---->Crash Information<----8 or something like that. I tried /execing etconfig.cfg and joining ETPUB but still crashed. ANyone have any ideas?

1. Don't use "seta". (God been saying this 100 time). The only reason is it changes your cvars in etconfig.cfg and thats not good when you keep changing your cvars.

 

2. You have low end PC. Never use 100 maxpackets. It creates more load on CPU. Also, their is no way you will send more then 76 maxpackets when your PC can't generate more then 76 FPS.

 

3. r_displayRefresh "75" Never set refresh rate. Let the game engine read from your monitor.

Because you use "seta".

 

Delete the profile folder from etpub and try again.

"set" works perfectly and it works well without any problem.

ok, I have a cofig that has seta used but I havent had crash issues, should I delete my profile and change it to set? :rolleyes:

Well i always used seta and I will never use set without a ... it works perfect and i made mine to archive it on etconfig. I never ever had a tiny little error

 

even if you use example seta cl_maxpackets "100" it can be changed just use the seta to overwrite the old one on etconfig. seta cl_maxpackets "60" for example :hi

Yup that's what i've always done aswell. Had small probs here and their but they were generally fixable in 1 or 2 secs.
