Hello everybody, Since we are a worldwide gaming clan with people all over the world, there is a chance that romances grow. Or you could be a travel addict and find love in another country. So I'm starting this topic to see if more people have experiences with long distance relationships. I would love to hear about other people their experiences, now in covid times but also before, from just a country next to yours to halfway across the world. I hope this helps people who are in the same situation or think about getting in the long distance relationship. Personally I'm married with someone who lives over 6000km/3700miles away from me. It is challenging but we manage, obviously we think we are perfect for each other which makes things easier. Now with covid, things have been more challenging because of travel bans but since we got married in January 2020 I got the luck that I could still travel to him as it was deemed an essential flight, 2 weeks of quarantine upon arrival and another week of quarantine and a covid test when I got back 'home', mouth mask for 9+ hours and standing in line for an hour and half just to show 2 documents that had been checked before I even got on the plane. But just knowing you'll be able to spend time with your better half makes it all worth it. I can only imagine how awful it would be for couples who aren't married and can't see each other for an extended period of time. I would never recommend long distance relationships to anyone, it's the hardest thing I've ever done mentally, insecurities, not being able to touch, kiss, cuddle, just be there for each other is so difficult, but when you just know this other person is special you suffer through it. It has taught me that nothing is just normal, while some people get upset by their better half and get tired of them, I can only be jealous of the people who can see their better half frequently, can wake up next to them every day and so on. Currently I'm in the draining process of getting a PR (permanent residency) for Canada - ofcourse one of the hardest countries to get into if you aren't a skilled worker. Lots and lots of paperwork and the PR doesn't include a work permit so next year I'm planning to move there to apply for a work permit - but won't be allowed to work while I wait for it to be approved (possibly 4 to 5 months) so I'm trying to save as much money as I can now. The fact that one of you will have to leave your country and migrate, leave your family and friends is another thing to think about and talk about. My husband likes his guns and I've known since I was a lot younger I'd eventually move away from Belgium. I also like the culture and the more relaxed way of life of Canada so for me the choice is easy, now with internet, all the social media and chat apps plus the ability to travel doesn't make it seem like such a big deal and Canada for me is an amazing country so my family can only be happy to have a place to stay when they want to visit the country (ofcourse main reason would be to visit me I assume but if there is much to do it's nicer). Enough with my rambling 😄 I hope more people are willing to share their story.

'Sup peeps ! Some of you probably haven't seen me in a while as a matter of fact, I post rarely on forums (You don't say ?) and I've been quite less active on Wolf ET. This topic will be somewhat the sequel of the one I've made in the past: http://fearless-assassins.com/topic/76268-update-piece-of-mind-a-talk-about-depression/?hl=depression So for those who don't know me at all (Shame on you, ya little fellas !), you'll get an idea of what I'm often facing with and who I am at the same time. Ever since I've made the previous topic, I've made a few changes in my life. I got support of peeps on forums and in real life too. As a matter of fact, my life as known quite "The Swerve" (OMERGERD ! IT'S VINCE RUSSO !... Enough with the references nobody will get). So let's see how much things changed right after I wrote the previous thread. Four days after I post it, the day before my birthday, I found love. A girl who seems so happy in the outside and super excited, somewhat childish at moments but a soul as depressed as I was in the inside. She was a friend of mine for like five years and we always were attracted to each others. Why did it took us that long before we really decided to date ? We're fools and we weren't sure if it would've worked. So we tried to give ourselves a chance... And we're happy. I don't think either of us have ever been that happy in the past. [Not Important Piece Of Information]=> My girlfriend and I started as an open relationship, and she drove me nuts at some point. We were like "Let's be open minded and not call ourself officially as "couple" and let's just see if we'll find happiness that way. If you find someone and you're happier with said someone, so be it". After we cut this deal, there was my love life being complicated more than it should've because my girlfriend was one of my two biggest crushes probably in life. And then the other crush started flirting with me... And then three other girls said "I actually loved you, but I guess it's too late" and I was super confused about "What the hell is goin' on ?". My girlfriend often joked about harems and everything and she said she was open for a trio... But I declined any signs of temptation because I truely realized that I really love her. Like a super whole lot and I'm glad to be with her, I'm super happy. I've never been that happy in the past with someone. Then I changed my routine. I used to go on other forums in wish I started to get a pretty bad rep' because people were jealous of me, so they tried to portray me as "The bad guy". I just straight up left that toxic virtual environement because I don't give a damn about them and I stopped giving a damn about their forums anyway for years. I've started to eat better, getting slowly but surely back in shape, starting to get back some yoga poses, playing with the dog and the cat more often and all funny stuff. Getting friends to do stuff. I've had trouble with the government accusing my family of fraud and giving us a fine of 32K $, but I'm somewhat over it. It will just take time to refund and on a more positive note: I'm now officially working at the video game store I used to help and where I've done some stages. My knowledge in gaming is an important asset to them. So I'm having love, I'm working, I'm getting healthier and I'm more sane... But I never neglected the fun and side-projects too. I work on pretty much most of my free time on my Youtube channel in which I'm getting more and more proud as the further I progress. I may not and never get big, but I'm doing something with passion. And here's where a lot of the fun part kicks in: I've been doing some stuff with the first two Youtubers I follow since 2008 (That's already insane to me) and on the streams of one of them, one of his roomate, which is a nice fellow, added me in his contacts. Him, me and some other dudes have a nice weekly gaming session every Friday and we have quite a lot of fun. If you count that, the fact I've opened myself even more to people since I nearly snapped, I evacuate the blues out of my body by playing violin. Ever since all these changes have been made, I never really felt the depression taking the best of me again. We should remember that even in a cloudy day, the sun may take time, but it will surely show up. Now I should head back to the game pretty soon, should I, mmm ?

Welcome to Pondering Pig #5 BABY!! Today's topic will be LOVE!!!! Specifically, how to have a successful romantic relationship. Even more specific, how to stay in love. Marriages these days have about a 50% failure rate. They end in violent divorces and even couples are having a hard time feelin' the love. Why do we get bored of the people we used to love? Why do we cheat or have affairs? And if the person we love tells us "I don't think I love you anymore.", what does it mean? I can recall how my current relationship started many moons ago. I was crazy about this girl but I was terrified of being betrayed or lied to. I knew this would just bring baggage into the relationship so I told her flat out. "Look, I'm going to do my best. But there's one thing I simply can't handle. I can't handle lies. Don't lie and don't betray me. That's all I ask ok?" Seems fair right? Well the first thing she did was cheat on me, LOL! Now a less wise man would throw this "see-you-next-tuesday" right out the door! But not I. Instead I told her, "I want to make this work. Do you want to be with me or not?" She confirmed her desire to be with me and promised to never do betray me like that again. She was clearly upset. Over the months, I felt rage, hate, anger, frustration and resentment. It took many months of meditation, communication, PATIENCE and more patience. We both worked hard to make sure we confronted our feelings. I felt very attracted to other people at times and wanted to be with them. I was honest about this and who could blame me? She cheated so of course I'd want to be with someone else, lol. But I stayed focused and never lied or betrayed her either. Now, our relationship is better than it ever has been. It's been tough at times but the deep feeling of connection is worth so much more. Here's the point: I noticed my feelings of love for my girlfriend would change. I felt less love for her at certain times and vice versa. So what was with this ebb and flow? Was it normal? Yes. But I also learned through meditation that my feelings were my responsibility. I actively focused my meditations on my relationship and a wave of insights flooded my consciousness. One of them was this: It is YOUR responsibility to feel love towards your partner. It is not your partners responsibility to MAKE you feel love. This is a very mature concept. More and more psychological research indicates how love is a choice. When we feel a certain something, we pursue it. We go with it. In other words, once we start following the spark, we've now accepted responsibility for our feelings. If you don't feel love for your partner or if it's been shakey, take a look at yourself honestly. How much are you putting on your partner? Maybe we should spend more time cultivating feelings of love to share with our partners instead of depend on them to force us to feel love to begin with. Thoughts, feelings, irrational outrage? Howdy! My friend has fallen in love. He says that's it's love of his life So he got an idea to make his gf a great no-occasion gift. He want to get photos of ppl living all around the world in front of flag/monument carrying a banner which says: "Peter's love for Anita is bigger than the world".
