Players blocking mates in game on jay1

Hello there,

Recently I saw a problem, few players pm me for ask this question : "hey hypno, you know mates block me at spawn, sometimes I can't go out and it's really bored ... do you have solutions, idea ?"

 

Then I have an idea, I am a dev and know a little bit scripts. So I think we can edit the server, and make players transparent when they have spawn invincibility, then players can move has they want and go easier out of the spawn, that's my idea... Admins can reply to this topic and answer ... that's all for me, I mean it can be nice..

I don't think your idea will be accepted, not that it's a bad one, it's just a big change to normal game play... But if that's not the case or you just feel like doing it anyway then check out the etjump source code. It should have all the snippets of code in there to do it.

Yup, first I was thinking like you, but I think it can up in-game experience of players, at least, we just make players transparent when invincibility is turn on .. I Know we change a princip of the game, but is that a bad thing ? To meditate...

I think the idea is good, I only wonder how often is it necessary? If it is possible to apply it only to the Maps where it is needed, I would like to give it a shot.

 

But what will happen if two or more players stand together in one spot and the spawnshield goes away?

The game will automatically separate them, cause game got a code about this, normally.

Thank you Phoenix,  we can't make players invisible when they hurt other players, but we can adjust the problem in the spawn... kiss

If players would just learn how to exit spawn without blocking, it would be great. BTW, how does ET know where to place you in Spawn when map starts? Seems I'm always way in the back.

It's simple, this is out of my competence but a good scipter/moder can scripts places where players spawn at beginning of the game, so it can be great... I think, thank you for reply HipKat
