Poisoned Knives

For some reason I can't throw poisoned knives, or even normal knives for that matter. I saw on one of the console tips that you press "v06" or something like that, but it still didn't work. I read in a previous topic that players with a ping value over something like 300 ms can't use throwing knives. SL states that I have an average ping of 40 ms on Jay 1, 36 ms on Jay 2, 161 ms on NQ, and 48 ms on Hardcore, so I don't get why it's not working. Maybe I'm pressing the wrong keys?

The thing about 300 pinggers not being able to use throwing knives just means that the ping is so high that knives are useless as they cant hit anything with ppl warping in front of you. As for why you can't throw the knives, most likely you have the mouse2 key bound to some other function in your cfg. That's why i can never use the throwing knives, ive got crouch bound to mouse2.

Just go to main menu, then into Jaymod menu and finally into misc menu. You'll see alternate fire key is empty so bind it to whatever key you use to zoom sniper. That v06 thing in vsay menu binds it to mouse button 2 (default button to zoom stuff). To actually throw knives you need to press the button you just selected.

I used to have "reload" and "alternate fire" both as mouse2 on NQ, I've tried to do the same on Jaymod but it doesn't seem to work...

I was the one who said you can't if you have a 300+ ping. We are talking about Jaymod 4 knives, not ETPub spam-a-knife.

Well for those who use more than one stuff on that button you can replace +weapalt with +attack2 . From what I've seen it's the same thing only attack2 can also throw knives and I think it's only found on Jaymod too.

 

 

EDIT: My bad, instead on altattack (which doesn't exist) I meant on weapalt, fixed now

If you bind them both to mouse2 then you don't have to keep switching / changing cfg when you move from jaymod to other mods or vice versa.

bind mouse2 "+attack2; weapalt;"
