Leader RedBaird Posted August 12, 2016 Leader Posted August 12, 2016 (edited) Last pic..."A Rio de Janeiro state law requires the presence of lifeguards at swimming pools larger than six by six meters, or about 20 by 20 feet." Olympic lifeguard has a great quote about working the most boring job at the Olympics It is described as a 1-in-a-million chance that any will have to act at the Olympics, but they be very useful in the event of heart attacks, debilitating leg cramps or head-butts into the pool walls. 75 were hired, including 15 women. It IS very ironic. It is probably less useful for the team events. Besides, they Get Paid to watch the Olympics. Edited August 12, 2016 by RedBaird craps=>cramps, thanks for telling me :) Quote

It´s very unlikely that anything happens to "professional swimmers" but they are still human and mistakes\health problems can occur. Heck there are news coming from soccer players drop dead in middle of game and there´s no water related to drown into. I´m all into thinking ahead, especially after yesterday news where "couple of houses" away 2 men died in work accident, 3rd was more lucky. That´s the thing, everybody thinks that nothing never happens, but there´s a good saying "an accident doesn´t yell ahead about its coming". Quote
