SinfulRaevyn
Oh. My. God. id Software has apparently not yet decided if the PC-exclusive Quake Champions will be free-to-play or a more traditional paid game. Studio head Tim Willits told PC Gamer that choosing a business model for the game has been a "really hard problem." "So for us, we're trying to figure out exactly what people want more of, and how they perceive it," Willits explained. "And I'm not even trying to be cagey! It's not like we know and just aren't trying to tell anybody; we don't know and we're still trying to figure this out." Quake Champions was announced during Bethesda's E3 2016 briefing in June. The first gameplay footage was released during Bethesda's recent QuakeCon event in Texas (watch it above), containing the kind of fast-paced gameplay fans may be familiar with from past entries in the series. A beta for Quake Champions will kick off next year, with the game's full release is scheduled for sometime later in 2017. Quake Champions is only coming to PC for its initial launch. However, console versions are not out of the question. It runs at 120Hz with unlocked framerates, and id Software is aiming to get it working on a wide range of computer specs. "We want to make sure that we have as many people as we possibly can," Willits said previously. "You'll be able to turn down your specs and get a decent game at lower-end. But we want to shine on good systems." http://www.gamespot.com/articles/is-quake-champions-free-to-play-or-paid-dev-hasnt-/1100-6442429/
