Leader RedBaird Posted March 28, 2016 Leader Posted March 28, 2016 (edited) This is what happens when you mix stupidity and guns... Yes... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tannerite Which says "...It is marketed as a target designator that is useful for persons who are firing at long ranges." and "...The manufacturer recommends using no more than 0.5-pound (0.23 kg) of the mixed composition at once, for safety reasons, although this guideline is not always followed and...". Long-range rifle shooters put the tannerite on a target to show a small explosion when hit, rather than having to walk all the long way to the target to inspect it. The shooter in the video was very close to the target and used three pounds of Tannerite, six times the recommended amount of mixture. It is a binary explosive, composed of two stable powders that have to be mixed together to become explosive, but only when hit by a high powered bullet. The guy wanted to make a good video. He got a memorable one. I wonder if he is going to sue the manufacturer? BTW, all of those explosions in the video were larger than a target-shooter would need, even the smallest one.
