Look for a new Video Card

Looking to replace my AMD Radeon HD 5700 Series Video Card.  Any recommendations?  Requirements it does not break the bank, do not want to pay a small fortune for the card.

I find Toms Hardware very helpful when I'm looking for new hardware. They are constantly testing components with new benchmarks and have an easy to understand point system.

It depends on how much you want to spend and what you have in mind when you say 'does not break the bank'

you can use the point system of your desired benchmark and look up prices at amazon or the shop you like to order at.

 

The 'Radeon HD 7870' and the 'Radeon HD 7950' are in the 100$ range

The 'GeForce GTX 960' and the 'GeForce GTX 780' are in the 200$ range

The 'GeForce GTX 970' is in the 300$ range

The 'Radeon R9 290X' is in the 350$ range

The 'GeForce GTX Titan X' and 'GeForce GTX Titan Z' are in the 1000-2000$ range

Find the games you want to play and then go to Nvidia and find the card that plays those games.

If games arent important then I would suggest the Nvidia 750 GTX ti.  Works great for me.  Costs about $130.

if u just play ET,950 will be fine,but if u play bf4 or a new game,u will need a minimum of 960!!! well,iam old and use a gtx 560 ti and got no problem to play all game!!!!

I use a 660Ti and still am able to run games on higher settings. Have stable capped 333 FPS on CoD4

Go to the Nvidia page and you will see that the 660ti is still way up there with the 700 and 900 series.  That card is hot.

Not worth to buy a old GPU unless with very good rebate. They don´t have the new DX12 support, nor h265 support etc...

Thanks all.  I need to buy a new harddrive as mine is starting to show age and with that I will get a new video card or run duel video cards.
