i got a new PC... its a HP Elitebook 8470P.  for now i got 8gb with 1TB Harddrive hybrid. the issue i am having is that i just got the PC and im having FPS issues.

my previous PC i had a Centrino duo and a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450 - 256 MB

but my new PC has

Graphics
Integrated
  • Intel HD Graphics 4000

Discrete
  • AMD Radeon HD 7570M, with 1GB dedicated GDDR5 video memory

however there are some maps i still get a high variation of FPS as low as 18 FPS and sometimes lower for a brief minute.  i do have the HD ET for jaymod so i rather play in HD if possible but i need help with maxing the graphics for the game BUT WITHOUT IT LOOKING BLOCKY.

thanks

Are you sure it is running on the correct graphics card, the discreet and not the integrated?

Seems a little low fps even for the HD4000 but if you are using some HD mod or something that might be too much for it.

Next time try to use proper section.

Staff+ pleave move this topic to Et support section, thanks.

The problem with mods is that they are badly optimised and game can't handle big sized textures.

Try what Raskin said, different render mode(r_primitives 0 or 1 or 2)  usualy solves the problem.

The 'blocky graphics' are caused by low settings which include r_texturemode "GL_NEAREST_MIPMAP_NEAREST" or just "GL_NEAREST" then you'll see the blocky lightning and stuff like that.

r_picmip will just increase texture quality which 0 is the highest setting and 3 is the lowest.

r_detailtextures 1 adds some features to textures, works well with depthbits last time I checked.
