Ender Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Bumping this slightly due to a shitload of necros that occured. Hoping that there could be more input on good times for practice, but if there isn't, there'll probably be two practices this week, one on Friday and one on Saturday to see which day would be most convinient, or if two practices would work for everyone. Time would probably be 8 EST, as that seemed to work well last time. So speak up if those times wouldn't work for you, and recommend a time that would. Either time should work fine for me Quote
Duckie Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Next time you post scrim times... can you please add a day(s) of the week... is this 8PM EST every day?? Quote

Duckie Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Thanks, Malo. Naturally, I didn't catch that, but I edited the first post to have the days too so that anyone who comes here can see the date/time right away. See you then! Quote
Malokyte Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Next practice is tommorow Server we will be practicing on will be posted on vent, so get on to join in. This practice, I want to see some informal strategies. First, we'll start off with a knife only round, first person to die on your team gets to decide the strategy your team will take the next round. Since it's informal, something as simple as 'rush A' or 'smoke b' will suffice. After the knife round, first to die on the team decides strategy yet again. Try to throw smokes as well to prevent pre-snipes. However, this is still a relativly informal practice, so feel free to run around like chickens with your head cut off if you want to. Quote

Malokyte Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Why knives only? Just for shits and giggles? First round only, because knifing is slightly different in promod. No auto-aim on the knife, and some ladders require a knife round to determine which team decides first side. If you run out of ammo, and you need to knife, need to get used to not missing. Quote
Tomato Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Yeah, I've noticed knifing is very unforgiving in promod, you really have to hit them. The scrim practice starts at 8 tonight, but do we have a time when we end, or just as long as people stay? Quote

I work under the belief that if I force somebody to work for an hour when they want to work for 30 minutes, they'll burn out faster. Let them play as long as they want, no sense pushing when the person is bored. Quote

Malokyte Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 is this just for members only? or anyone can jump in As long as you have a 1.7 patch CoD4, and get on our ventrillo channel at least to listen in, anybody is welcome to jump in... except trolls and hackers... but I haven't heard anything bad about you yet. fred Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 yes let me clear this up. we arent gonna use fa tags. we are gonna be the fa cod 4 scrim team but we are gonna make up a team name so people not in the clan can scrim for us. for example people like gigabyte are fa regulars and if they wanna scrim with us its fine. anyones allowed to scrim as long as they have 1.7 arent douchebags and come to practice. I know this is internet..but I can swear my kids life that ever since I started playing cod4..never cheated and never tried..I was a noob once ..didn't know what the hell I was doing ..it's all from specting, practice..trying out different setup(perks&weapons)..some people saying this "you are a noob 'cause you are using such such gun" ....this is what I would say..."The Gun doesn't make the player"..each person have different style..just need to find a gun that you feel comfortable with...sometimes need to switch 'cause the situation you or your team is in. I remember there were a few days I actually stay up for a day and a half with no sleep..yep..just playing cod4..I started from nV. 1.6 Domination server..each round is 45 mins long..anyways. I might swing by to check it out.. Quote
Ender Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 (edited) Pegasus I would love to have you come and practice with us. I've spec'd you before and your really good. You would provide even more tough competition in practices. Edited May 15, 2010 by Ender Quote
fred Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 yea we have a preatty talented team. the only thing we lack is experiance. if i remember right im the only one on the team with 5+ scrim matches. other than that we have a solid team. Quote
