Jellynuts Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Hi All I dont know if anyone else has had this problem but I couldn'tt find where demos and screenshots were being stored on my pc. Usually they would be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\main\demos but when I checked I found that I didn't have a demos or a screenshots folder in that location. I am on Windows 8.1 and after a bit of digging and head scratching it turns out that 8 and 8.1 does something odd and puts them in a virtual store. The easiest way to find the demos is to search your pc for demo00 (thats zero zero on the end) the location if you prefer is C:\Users\****\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\main\demos remember to replace the **** with your user name on your pc. Hope someone finds this useful Quote
Guardian Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 I guess you are using a Steam version of the game, because I am using windows 8.1 using a physical copy of the game and my demo's and screenshots always end up in the right place. Quote
The_Dom Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 I think screen shots can save there, depending on how they are taken. Demo recorded with /record should go to the location you expected it to be. 8.1 here as well. Quote
Jellynuts Posted July 17, 2015 Author Posted July 17, 2015 Im not using steam. I have the physical disk and loaded it onto pc.. I guess there must be a setting somewhere that I need to change to get it to go to demos folder. Quote
Guardian Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Maybe if you just create a folder named 'demos' in the correct spot and i think that should fix that. Same goes for screenshots. I remember having to manually create that folder to be able to store demos. Quote
A_Snake Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Okay I have a question for you learned people. I have the F12 bind for screenshotJPEG and it works well with normal in game screen shots, but when I open full console to take a screen shot I get nothing. I have to manually type the command into the console to get it to work. I even tried setting another bind key and it did not work. I've searched online to see if there is anything about this and found nothing. In the old days before Windows 7 I used to just use the Print screen key and worked great. Now when i do that all I get is a solid black image. So what i am looking for is a way to open the full screen console and take a screen shot by using a bind. Right now the normal screenshotJPEG bind is not working to capture the full console screen image. Quote
Guardian Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 As far as i know the PrintScreen button never works when playing games (always resulting in a blackscreen) so there is that. Now for the ss-binds, i believe that having your console open doesnt let you use binds, i.e: having something bound to a letter key doesnt show the bind when typing in the console/chat. The same thing will happen when using nonletter keys as a bind, hence you wont be able to use them for screenshots. Quote
