He's annoying with lens flare. I remember watching fringe and it would be there all the time. -.- Yes, some of the exaggerated lighting tricks can be irritating: the "lens flares" and "half-face" and other effects that you never see in real life. A TV show with masked doctors & nurses working in dimly lit hospital operating rooms = WTF! Dust, dust and more dust for flashlights and sunbeams to shine so brightly through, Dayam! An Asthmatics nightmare! (<-- my most rarely-used emoticon--) The lens flares and shaky cams may be trying to give the viewer the feeling that they are the camera operator and are really there.
