I must admit, my Hard Drive did not have a good experience out of the box. I bought it new, back when 1TB hard drives were coming down in price (I bought it for $75-109 at the local Best Buy, I remember it was a great deal) and plugged it in to a motherboard with a fried Northbridge (AMD). Head clicking and the spindle servo powering up and down randomly soon commenced.

Since attaching it to a different HDD controller though, it's been spinning away without error, hosting hundreds of GB's of music, pictures, applications, documents, etc. It ran solo for about a year before being supplemented with another Seagate Barracuda of the 3TB variety (which is also without problems).

I have both drives mounted vertically, with the SATA connectors up top. Maximum temperature of the 1TB disk was 120F, with an average temperature of 95F. Maximum temperature of the 3TB was 115F, with an average temperature of 96.84F. Both are running at 7200RPM 24/7/365.
