Mr.Karizmatic Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Livestreaming is now available on Steam’s beta client via Steam Broadcasting, Valve revealed today. Steam Broadcasting allows users to choose, in their privacy settings, who can watch their gaming (friends specifically invited, friends by request, friends by open invitation, anyone). Broadcasts automatically begin when someone starts watching through one of the aforementioned means, and access is a simple right-click away from the Friends list, with “Watch Game” found just below “Launch Game.” Presently, this feature is only available to Steam users who opt into the client beta (settings, account). The nitty-gritty of Steam Broadcasting can be found on Valve’s FAQ on the feature. Quote
SiD Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Hopefully they develop it a little better. At best it's a good preview window into a friend's game. Other uses? Pretty much the same as tits on a bull. You can get the same effect plus more options (like saving broadcasts) from better sources. Twitch, Youtube, and so on. Quote
