...government sticks their big greedy fingers...

As opposed to say... the ISPs attempting self-regulation and failing horrifically at it? They give such little shit about what they do that they openly admitted that they stay out of each others areas. You know what the ISPs want right? Two tiers of traffic? So they can squeeze even more money out of... well everyone. You can kick and scream all you like about how the government is over-reaching but the fact remains that it wouldn't have gotten this far, or even anywhere near this, if the ISPs hadn't sued them in the first place. So, if you're looking for someone to blame I would suggest blaming them, as they've quite literally forced your government's hand.

EDIT: I completely missed the rest of what you said. So, here goes;

They're trying to regulate it.

Which is a good thing, because the ISPs are doing a really piss poor job of it. Then they're charging you an extortionate amount for a service that quite a lot of their customer base can't even use because it's so appallingly bad.

There's no need. The internet is doing just fine.

No. Just... flat out no.

Well then we will see. Nothing good will come out of allowing the U.S. government to dig in deeper on us. If you think it's bad now, just wait. Our country has been overrun by corrupt, greedy politicians. They only do things that benefit themselves in some way or another.

While there may be a tiny minority of politicians that aren't corrupt, or greedy, I agree completely with that statement. However;

What I'm saying is that your government, in this situation, is the shiniest of two turds* and complaining about them sticking their collective nose in, while completely warranted, serves no purpose other than show you approve of your ISPs generating yet more money for an arguably shittier service.

But honestly, I'm pleased with my service. Not too pricey and I have fantastic internet speed. Also, I have yet to meet a gatekeeper. I've never met a website I couldn't look at.

I did warn you guys, about overly charged replies. Take it into PMs if you need to get it off your chest.

Then I'd like to congratulate you on being one of the few without any issues. Just like there are a few clean-nosed, moderately caring politicians there are also those with a flawless Internet connection xD

I didn't think it was overly charged???

If you're going to post props to a  U.S. president past or present you have to expect some kind of banter from Americans. I found it freindly and amusing. I don't believe I or he insulted anyone. Just opinions.
