daredevil, don't get me wrong I'm not trying to call you out, or say you're getting a bad deal.
I'm just saying with a little work and know how, the costs could be brought down.
I promise I've got better things to do than to come to your site to flame you. ;)

Never thought of that and don't worry for it. Even if you call me out I will be fine. Over the period this clan has made me learn to be patient and each time someone puts my patient to test, I feel here is another challenge. More or less you aren't testing my patience as of yet.

On the side note I am all here to save money because at the end of the day if donation goal is not reached it all goes from our pocket and that has happened many times in past.

Back the point:

The screenshot which you posted of dedicated server is of 220$ for one machine. Well we run 3-4 machines:

1. NJ, USA - Windows

2. Germany - Windows

3. Germany - Linux for Website hosting and other things. (This one is shared with my friend)

4. NL machine - For redirect.

Now if I end up purchasing at your pirce i.e. 220$/month then it would be 880$/month just for 4 machines and it wouldn't cover servers hosted in Chicago, NY, etc. or website bills, etc. More or less our cheapest redirect server i.e. NL machine has 4GB RAM and all others server as 16 to 32GB RAM. All our servers are on 1Gbps port.

So with your suggestion I would be paying a lot more and getting way less. I will respectfully pass on that.

I was unaware of the current specs your servers are running.

Realize then that your specs may be a bit overkill for just running a couple game servers.

That's why I was thinking more along the lines of consolidating servers to a box or 2.

There's no getting around the fact that more locations you want = more boxes though. No doubt there.

I assume you want to keep these servers in NL, in Ger, and I would hope in the US too.

Just a thought, thats why the title of the post was just curious :)

Also linux servers are typically less expensive than windows servers.

I would think that ET would be able to be hosted on a linux box at this point, but I'm not sure.

I just know that cod4 can be, along with bot's and whatever other plugins come with those.

I'm not trying to test your patience either Daredevil.

I just know that I've been in that position (where the difference comes out of my pocket personally) and it's not a fun one to be in.

So I'm just trying to help, after all I did apply to be in F|A ;)

While we're on the topic of server administration though.... Does dediservers offer any sort of DDoS protection?
