Mr.Karizmatic
When the news broke of the death of comedian and actor Robin Williams, fans took to social media to pay their respects. Now Blizzard has confirmed that it will also be paying tribute to Williams by adding him to World of Warcraft. World of Warcarft player Jacob Holgate created a petition on change.org asking Blizzard to add Williams to the game as an NPC. You may think it’s quite an odd request until you learn how much of a fan of the game he was. The petition mentions that Williams enjoyed playing both Warcraft III and World of Warcraft, and would often joke about being addicted to the MMO. “Because of his presence within our community, we the players of World of Warcraft are asking Blizzard to kindly create an NPC within the game that memorializes the actor/comedian,” Holgate wrote. “Many have expressed a wish to this character perform some of Williams best jokes within the Worlds End Tavern, so that he may continue making us smile long after his passing.” The petition gained over 10,000 signatures in a short amount of time, and shortly after Chadd Nervig, Technical Game Designer on WoW, tweeted “Yes. We’re taking care of it.” This was later followed by a tweet from the officialWorld of Warcraft account that stated: ”@robinwilliams Thank you. You gave us so much joy in our lives, and we hope you enjoyed your time in our world. We’ll see you in-game.”
