SinfulRaevyn Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I have a really weird problem... :/ I can't seem to find or connect to FA beginners #3 on my laptop. I installed the game into my laptop again through steam so I can at least pop in, view demos, or check servers at night >.< When I open the master server list I get most servers. I can even see softcore beginners, killhouse 24/7 broadcast... But no FA Beginners. When I try to connect with the IP it times out. Even adding IP to my favorites shows only the IP name and not the server name. I have no idea what to do. -.- Quote
Heretic121 Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Oh well... time for you to start playing Softcore than, I guess Quote
kami Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Connecting to the other server with the same IP works? Did you run a winmtr against the IP? Quote
SinfulRaevyn Posted July 23, 2014 Author Posted July 23, 2014 I can connect to other servers fine. >.< Beginners refuses to show up in master list. I even tried connecting through xfire.. and I get timed out. |------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | WinMTR statistics | | Host - % | Sent | Recv | Best | Avrg | Wrst | Last | |------------------------------------------------|------|------|------|------|------|------| | 192.168.0.1 - 0 | 104 | 104 | 1 | 5 | 130 | 1 | | 10.104.136.129 - 0 | 104 | 104 | 7 | 13 | 148 | 10 | | 24.156.142.9 - 0 | 104 | 104 | 11 | 18 | 153 | 15 | |pos-0-0.gw01.pr.phub.net.cable.rogers.com - 0 | 104 | 104 | 10 | 16 | 156 | 14 | | 10ge7-4.core1.tor1.he.net - 0 | 104 | 104 | 10 | 18 | 159 | 18 | | 100ge1-2.core1.nyc4.he.net - 0 | 104 | 104 | 20 | 28 | 169 | 22 | | 10ge3-1.core1.nyc6.he.net - 0 | 104 | 104 | 20 | 29 | 159 | 26 | | nyiix.gi3-6.cr1.nyc1.choopa.net - 1 | 100 | 99 | 21 | 28 | 171 | 23 | |ethernet1-2-1-c1-16-b2-1.pnj1.choopa.net - 1 | 100 | 99 | 21 | 25 | 165 | 22 | | 108-61-21-94.constant.com - 0 | 104 | 104 | 21 | 27 | 159 | 23 | |________________________________________________|______|______|______|______|______|______| WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider Quote
CruelKind Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Im guessing it'll just take a little bit of time for the Master List to populate fully and include it... likely you'll see it in there eventually, just give it a bit of time and try again. Quote
SinfulRaevyn Posted July 23, 2014 Author Posted July 23, 2014 Even if that were the case why can't I connect to it with the IP? :/ Quote
Heretic121 Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Did you patch this install to 1.7? Steam's version is automatically installed as 1.7. She's also able to connect to Softcore. Quote
SinfulRaevyn Posted July 23, 2014 Author Posted July 23, 2014 Nope :/ It's Steam. It's automatically downloaded as the latest patch. And yes.. I just tried softcore, killhouse and broadcast 24/7 and all three connect no problem. This is super weird. I'm currently reinstalling the game and steam. >.< Also... nice to see punkbuster no longer works. Quote
Heretic121 Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Before Evenbalance stopped support for COD4 there was a way to do a successful Pb install for it. Might still work, but haven't needed to check it yet. Quote
SinfulRaevyn Posted July 23, 2014 Author Posted July 23, 2014 YAY. I think I got it now!! Roaming the internets I found a post that someone said it could be port or firewall issue. So I turned off firewall...and...noooothing. So I looked into the port forwarding thing and wanted to give it a shot. Sadly neither sid or I remember the login or password for our wireless router so we wound up having to reset the entire thing and re-setup our internet itself. I saw the section where I could mess with ports, but I checked cod4 first and POOF! Now Beginners shows up and I can get on ^^ Thanks for the helping me figure this out ^^ Hopefully this might help someone else in the future. 2 Quote

SinfulRaevyn Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 I'm not sure how to best word a tutorial like that I never got a chance to test port forwarding >.<. I can try to write something though Quote
