Hi, during the time I had quit ET for a bit, I had started playing CoD1. In the game you would literally have to use sound to help you, it tells you where anyone can be (like the sound of footsteps on concrete means someone is in a building, etc).

Recently I have been using sound to help me during the game and it helps me identify where someone is or if someone is about to turn the other corner.

I know this isn't considered cheating, but do other people do this? I just don't want anyone thinking I hack as I think hackers are for scrubs who like to wreck games for others.

Once more time, do other people do this?

Kind regards,  :yeye

Yes listening for Enemys is very important and every good player will do this, its also why walk is in the game in the first place (capslock by default).

Lol that's literally how I know where people are around me. It's a really great asset to use when playing ET. You can hear the movements of the soldier and the jumping/footsteps. Crouching doesn't use noise either just like walking. So when you hear an enemy from somewhere, position yourself and stay still or crouch towards the sound, then jump out and aim at their head for easy surprise Headshots and a kill. Works like a charm!

Everyone does, I think.

I do, except when I play while listening to music, but recently I don't play (almost) anymore :D

Last time I played ET there was some sore loser who cried for pings and stupid sh**, so I thought 'enough of this sh** game' and I think it's the right chance for me to quit, now that I'm less addicted to it :P

But yes, OT aside sounds are important

Yeah that was exactly what I would do when I I hear the distinct sound of approching footsteps :)

Don't forget the mini-map. When I hear something I always give a quick look at my mini-map to see if it's a teammate or no. (teammates usually appear on it, sometimes you even see enemies).

That way if you hear multiple sounds you know more where to go and what to expect!

if you have fun trying to kill a specific player (usually some annoying a**h*** who insulted you, or similar players you enjoy killing more than the rest) another useful thing is reading the obituary messages + hearing the weapon sounds, this way you know where he is after he kills someone.

and another useful thing is the view from your team mates while you are dead

I always listen to the sound of my enemies. Mostly you hear some footsteps, just hide and surprise, just like F3@R says. Easy kills, mate.
