About GUID

Okay so if my PC got infected with viruses/malware or somehow my Hard Drive crashed and i had to install new HDD, new copy of windows/linux etc.

 

So after installing new copy of ET will my guid be the same as before??.

 

and if it changes how to change it back to original one???

You have to save a copy of your ETKEY file which is in your ETMain folder. That file contains your GUID. Once you have that copied in a safe place, then whenever you reinstall ET, paste that file in your main folder.. that's how you keep your GUID forever.

Yeah. If you dont your guid will change and you wont be able to change it back to your original.

Your GUID will only be changed, if you connect W:ET, without or with a replaced ETkey.

This may happen when: you re-install W:ET, and you did not saved etkey.

This may also be caused by a virus that "destroys" your computer, and you install W:ET again, you do get a new GUID then, unless you made a backup of your ETkey file.
