Nvidia hybrid in Ubuntu

Recommended Posts

Topic title is driving me nuts.

Is there any1 who made this work properly?

I mean the power save and switching option between Intell HD and Nvidia  in Ubuntu .

I can get them to work both but then they both seem to be always on, resulting in a very high power consumption.

Selecting either 1 of them during boot also works.

And shure under Win 7 it works

regards Anton

This technology is kinda recent, so on Linux, you might have trouble using your laptop with it.

However http://rudrageek.com/linux-now-supports-hybrid-graphics-systems-ubuntu-13-10/ It seems to work, not as good as it is supposed to be, but still better than nothing.

Finally, just in case, don't turn off the IGP, 'cause the nvidia GPU is directly connected to it, if it's shut down, your screen won't display anything :)

Hope it did help a bit.
