Ol Smoke Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 First of all this is not about democrats or republicans. Its about back scratching and payoffs. Who paid the judge and the senators off? http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/02/13/democrats-who-oppose-keystone-xl-pipeline-own-shares-in-competing-companies/ Quote
Administrators JoeDirt Posted February 20, 2014 Administrators Posted February 20, 2014 Lobbying has always been an integral part of US politics. What most people fail to realize is that behind every politician is a business interest and they will push their agenda knowing full well that American people won't do jack all to oppose it. I mean there are blatant examples of big business influencing the government. However while all politicians are corrupt, the republicans do take the cake. Fox always likes to deflect things to Democrats, but sadly us who have or are studying history know that corruption is something that is encouraged in the Republican party and has been for decades now. 3 Quote
doctordan70s Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I'll have to take exception joe .If you look at what the democratic party is doing under obama's admin you'll have to decide if you are going to support total socialism or if you believe in the constitution and a free enterprise system. Here's a hint we didnt become the worlds richest country thru socialism .As far as fox news yes they are slanted towards the repub party but still they are bringing fairer news than the competition. Let's vote them all out .We need a state's constitutional convention and put term limits on every office!!!! Quote
TheGrinch Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I really wish that would happen. Lol The regular working have become legal slaves under Obama. I am a business owner and they have raised taxes way too much. We work just for them. Now they went to raise the minimum wage ? That's just ridiculous cus they are just going to raise the taxes even more and ppl are still going to be taking home the same amount of money they have from the beginning just cus they gotta pay taxes. EmtHipple Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 the problem with opening a Constitution congress is that once the bell is rung all beta are off, they could decide to scrap the entire thing start over. Or just say f*** it and elect a king/president for life, let your darkest fears run wild here and we would have no legal recourse to stop it short of open war. The Constitution can be amended now as it has been since its inception, The bill of rights was the first change to appease the anti federalist that wanted a severely restricted federal government, they were in favor of stronger states rights. Some reading material if you are so inclined to expand your minds. http://www.constitution.org/fed/federa00.htm federalist papers http://www.constitution.org/afp.htm anti federalist papers As for the lobbyist thing, Send them to......Detroit, bahwaaahhhaawwaaa Quote
doctordan70s Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 the problem with amending the constitution is you still have the same assholes who are running the county amending.with a 2/3 vote of all the states The constitution would stand with out problem,I seriously believe that the senate will call a vote to erase presidential term limits before obama's term expires.Grinch you are right about minimum wage the only thing that would accomplish is to raise payroll taxs and to hurt the retired and the poor.Anyone on a fixed income will always suffer when inflation rears it's ugly head.We have gone to far to the left we must move back towards the right ,I don't believe I should be supplying a phone for anyone it is definitely not a necessity ,for those who cry that the poor need it in case of an emergency, really, phones can be programmed to only call 911 this is just a liberal vote buying tool.I could go on all day but the bottom line is if we keep on this same path we will end up like greece, nothing is free!!! narc Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Here's a hint we didnt become the worlds richest country thru socialism. The only time America was considered to be the world's richest country, it was due to extremely artificial inflation and the watering down of the dollar behind shut doors. Truth be told we are exceptionally poor, china owns more of us than we do, and our own money is fiat money with the backing being owned almost exclusively by european jews. Your taxes go to pay off interest our government is being charged by the federal reserve bank, which is in fact not a federal bank at all, but rather a privately owned bank- owned by the Rothschilds "If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their money, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them (around the banks), will deprive the people of their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered." Thomas Jefferson sorry Mr. Jefferson, we f***ed that one up royally. Anyways I realize I was off topic.. I just wanted to point out that America is not, has not ever been ,and wont ever be the richest country in the world. We appear to be wealthy because we Americans- unlike the vast majority of the world- have unlimited credit with Jewish bankers. If Greece was financed by the redcoats, they wouldn't be in the situation they are. Aside of that, I am crazily impressed to have read this entire thread and not seen 1 single *completely* retarded comment, normally you cannot have any sort of political discussion without someone flaunting a strong lack of intelligence ^.^ Still think its a bad topic though, which is why I hijacked it into a history lesson on banking! muahahahaha! It is really all I can do to control myself, there are several inaccurate comments on this thread I really want to correct, but I can't afford to get sucked into a polarizing debate ^^ cant we talk about something less volatile? like evolution or coat hanger abortions? o.o Quote
narc Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 rather than multiquoting the lot of you, I would simply ask why all of you think they the removal of a president will have a serious change on our political trajectories? Is there something that obama has done that you do not think romney would have done? if so, why do you believe this? is the source of the information that led you to this conclusion accurate and reliable/ trustworthy? Finding a trustworthy political news outlet or even a trustworthy politician is nearly an oxymoron.. If you know that you cannot trust what they say, then what in fact can you say for sure that you know about the issue to begin with? The easiest way to get someone to agree with your political agenda, is to get them to look at something else and slip it in quietly. I daresay this is the most commonly used tactic in american politics. Make you enraged about abortion, religion, schooling, throw big poorly-defined words around like republican and democrat to create divergence and dissonance, then slip in a .3% tax decrease for big business that will save apple 15billion next year and go take a vacation with your cut of the the 5billion dollars that came in with apple's lobbyist last month. my point in that last kinda strange paragraph is that why do you honestly think you have any idea of what real political motivations and agendas are? I live in washington dc, I eat drink breathe shit and piss politics, and I am far from a fool. These two things together have brought me to the understanding that I actually understand nothing. The history books are a huge conglomeration of lies, wikipedia has silent moderators with agendas of their own, most of our worst enemies are actually controlling our media sources, the terms 'republican' and 'democrat' as related to american politics are loosely interchangable within their overarching stated agendas. The same people financially back both sides. politicians are professional liars- literally. So in the end what I'm saying is.. why do you even care? why allow yourself to get hyped up by some politician who hired a psychologist to review his speech to ensure it would hype you up accordingly? why follow the masses? I couldn't care less if Obama was elected for life or was assassinated tomorrow, it wouldn't effect the political climate of our country by a single degree. He is but a tool a pawn, a front man. take him out and the next will step up. republicans are not the problem. democrats are not the problem. the system itself is the problem- it is not strong enough to withstand the corruption innate to our species. gibson66 Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Wait....People are surprised that this is going on? It doesn't matter which side of the aisle you are on, money is power. Take a look at the NRA or the Israeli lobby. They can push a crappy puppet into a position or destroy a politician who opposes them. Then add the citizens united into the mix and effectively politics becomes an auction. Whoever has the most money (lobbyists, corporations, rich people like the Koch brothers) wins the election. Don't kid yourself. The system is corrupt beyond fixing. Just live with it and hope whoever you want elected has big money behind them. 1 Quote
Antichrist Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Removal of the president will do nothing, as the next president, unless he has a set of balls on him, will be controlled and influenced by both parties, military, CIA, DEA, etc.. You need to empty the entire government. Everyone gets fired. And start over from square 1. Right now the constitution doesn't mean anything more to them than a pack of toilet paper. Quote
